By Slipjack , May 8, in Electric Guitars. I've been Googling around for the past couple weeks and it is becoming difficult to find a good aftermarket bridge for my Squier Strat. I upgraded all of the electronics, and next up is the bridge or at least ditch the zinc block for steel and the tuners. Measuring with a tape ruler doesn't feel very accurate but that's what I came up with.
I think it was the VS6 that has the string spacing I want but after searching it looks like it's not going to fit at all because of the post spacing. Can anyone confirm this? Are there any other bridge alternatives short of buying a new guitar? This one feels great, it just needs new hardware. The only thing you have to worry about with upgrading your bridge is the screw holes lining up.
If you get a whole trem unit, you don't have to worry about string spacing. Thanks a lot for the information guys. I was worried that I'd have to continue to use this bridge. I was hoping I wouldn't have to swap saddles and block the trem. This one will have more of a vintage look. MIM Squier Strat upgrade issues. Start new topic. Recommended Posts.
