I used with existing speakers with excellent results and then used it with older vintage Platinum Audio Studio One speakers with a low 83 dbw efficiency and was surprised that it produced very decent volume usually reserved for amplifiers with watt output, Will probably use it with other low efficiency speakers for travel use.
I'm very impressed with little amplifier. The sound is very transparent and warm. Using Apple Lossless as a source it a great little sound system. Clean sound, solid unit and takes up little space. Seems well constructed. I've been using this product about a month now and I can't complain at all. It produces very clean sound through a pair of audioengine passive speakers fed through my computer, and I can turn it up decently loud. It does everything I need it to, and no problems yet- knock on wood.
