Multi channel amplifier sonos wireless system
I am looking to connect existing speakers inside and outside a large house to Sonos. There are 7 pairs of speakers. My contractor is suggesting buying seven Sonos amps but I suspect he is more interested in the easiest job for himself than the most cost-effective solution for me. I know there are multichannel amplifiers but Sonos does not offer them. My question is if anyone has connected speakers to a multichannel amplifier and then connected that to the Sonos system without using Sonos amps. I should add that I would never need more than two separate music streams.

Sonos as a system has two big advantages — breadth of choice and simplicity of use. In the time its rivals have been playing catch-up, Sonos has launched a whole family of products and got onside with a long list of streaming services, not to mention nailing the usability aspect of multi-room audio. The most obvious way to introduce yourself to Sonos is with the Sonos One wireless speaker pictured, above. It's a great little speaker in its own right. Controls on the speaker come via a touch-sensitive panel decorated with a circle of tiny, white LEDs and symbols. There's also a dedicated Pairing button, just above the ethernet socket.

The Sonos Amp is an intriguing product: the company is pitching it primarily at the installers who bought the majority of the preceding Connect:Amps, but it's also very well suited DIY audio and home theater enthusiasts. It is without a doubt the most flexible product the company has ever made. If you asked anyone what they thought the future of music replay was, they would probably say streaming, and perhaps even records. The Sonos Amp can do both things -- providing your turntable has a preamp -- and adds the ability to connect a television. Of course it also works well with other Sonos gear to create an easy-to-use whole-home audio system.
The holidays are here, and whether you are hosting the family Christmas dinner or a raging New Years Eve bash for your neighbours, great music is an essential part of making a memorable evening. In the past having a synced multi-room audio system, which would let you have the same music playing in each room would take extensive renovations and be prohibitively expensive. Today however with Sonos , you can set up your audio system through WiFi in a few minutes, at a fraction of the cost of renovations. Best yet, these speakers sound great!
