Luxman M-4000

I belive that they were made in the late 70s. How do they compare with modern day equipment? Recently had the R, L, L, and L integrated amps. I am no audiophile by any means but for what it is worth this is what I have observed. The Luxman amps I have used do not really compare to the Citation 7. My experience is that these particular Luxmans had plenty of power but they lacked imaging, soundstage, and certainly the "micro dynamics" which I have now heard for the first time with the Reference Line equipment. Of course changes in speakers and interconnects over time could account for some of the difference but not that much. Granted the M Luxman you refer to was top of their line at one time I believe so this may be nice. The C preamp sounds nice too.
