The British Youth Council have acknowledged the excellent work to promote and engage students in democracy taking place at Liskeard School. Liskeard are only one of sixty schools nationally to receive the Discovering Democracy Award and the only school in Cornwall. This is in recognition of the work students have been doing in PHSCE as well as the numerous events held over the last twelve months such as a mock general election, youth parliament election and having outside speakers such as Lord Teverson, a peer in the House of Lords, come into school to speak to students.
