Luxman produces a variety of high-end audio products which include turntables , amplifiers , receivers , tape decks , CD players and speakers. Lux Corporation was founded in Japan on June , by T. Hayakawa and his brother K. The company began as the radio equipment department of Kinsuido Picture Frame Store in Osaka , until then only an importer of picture frames, and was founded just ahead of the first radio broadcast that year. At the time, Japanese radio listeners were dependent on technology originating in the United States and Europe. Importing radio equipment and parts was a very forward-looking enterprise for Lux, and passersby often crowded the store to hear the inviting sounds of the radios on display.

Luxman SQ was bought with problem in one channel and that was fixed by changing single transistor i suspect that more transistors needs to be changed as SQ produces quite a noticeable hiss which disappears when attenuate is switched on and level adjusted to the same volume SABA 25 G - i find them to be ok, but it seems that my ear asks for more full-blooded sound.
Re: Choosing a budget loudspeakers. It would take quite a lot of money to beat them, in my opinion. They are much better than their used price suggests. I have owned a pair since , and I plan to keep them forever. But I'll ask, also, what you want to hear from your speakers? What kinds of music do you like? How important is accuracy to you, faithfulness to the sound of acoustical musical instruments?
Hi Oskars, I think something else we could do with knowing is your room size and likely speaker placement. Are you after floor standers or stand mounts? I read that the Luxman is rated at 17 watts per channel into 8 ohms so you'll need something fairly efficient. Cheers, Ian. OK, then from that I think you are saying you want a bookshelf style speaker rather than a floor stander.
Is this correct? Hi Oskars, going on what you say about room size, music, listening needs and budget, I can recommend my own speakers - Dali Zensor 1. I have reasonably high expectations and similar needs to yours, and although I have mine on stands they can be placed in a bookshelf, work best close to back walls and don't need angling inwards to sound their best.

I realize the OP is looking for a bookshelf model, but for the music you mentioned, you should really look into the '60's Wharfedales with the cone-style tweeters.
The company marketed a different line in the UK, but there were just as many great models. For '60's rock, pop, soul, funk, blues, jazz, psychedelic, Motown, girl groups, Beatles, Moodies, Stones, Hendrix, etc. Those early to mid '60's Wharfedale models are perfect for that stuff. Placed right and powered by something warm and musical, they are absolutely-sublime. Coherent mids, plus smooth, completely-non-strident highs and fat, yet well-controlled upper-bass Wharfedales love the funk.

W or w 70's are hard to beat and at least in the us they can be had for usd or less. I would also say that the dynaco a25 is a remarkable smooth performer. Try moving your speakers to get a better sound. If you can get them sounding good you could replace the capacitors in the crossovers to get them sounding even better. My Marantz SR has a very faint, low volume center and right surround channel and my main right channel has a lot of noise so it seems it needs major repair. In the mean time, i'd like a stereo receiver. I missed out on a Luxman R Any other suggestions are welcome. I'm running a Luxman R with a pair of Forte I and the sound is spectacular. The people who sold me the fortes said you can have the receiver too. And I said, Thank you!!
