LOG IN. Apologies in advance for the length of this request. I have a Cary Sli F1 integrated that I've enjoyed for several years. Recently there was a sudden intermittent popping noise in the left channel and the EL34 tube in position 2 was flashing in time to the popping. Foolishly, I assumed it was a tube failure and put in another set of output tubes. On power-up the KT tube in 2 began to heat up and glow dramatically so I shut off the power immediately.

FX Audio 6j1 tube preamp - a $31 wonder
Has anyone upgraded the caps in their SLP? There are 21 caps in all including: 6 - 1. My guess is they are for output. I am not sure which would give me the most bang for the buck. Any insight would be appreciated. I thought the Cary SLP included all upgraded capacitors compared to their other preamps, some of which offered optional upgrades. Best, Ken.
