Carton cube calculator

Knowing the size of a cardboard box is essential to you working out your packaging requirements. The dimensions of the boxes we stock are always the internal dimensions in millimeters so you as the customer know how much packing space you have. However, sometimes you might want to know the volume of a box if you are looking to transport goods that are in packet or powder form, or if you are buying packing peanuts to protect goods, as packing peanuts are sold by volume rather than size or weight. And you can find out the amount you need by working out the volume of the box and the volume of your goods.

What Is CBM And How Do You Calculate It?

The calculator is periodically updated to ensure that the latest available emission factors and material specifications are applied. The results of the calculator may not be directly comparable with those generated in earlier versions. The results should not be used to support comparative claims made to the public. Any such use would fall outside of the requirements of the relevant ISO standards.

The calculated results are not exact; they are indicative and based on a number of simplifications. We have used a representative material specification for each package as the basis for the calculation of the results. The results show the carbon footprint of the carton under European conditions up to the moment when the packaging material leaves our factories. An assessment across the full life cycle requires additional data that varies locally, and with each specific product.

For example, distribution distances vary depending on where each package is filled and sold; some filled packages are stored chilled while others not; some packages will be recycled, others not. Moulding of caps and tops in the filling machine is not included in the results. Straws are not included in the results. There is a wide portfolio of straws to choose from with different lengths and diameters, and it is not practically possible to include all the available options in the calculator.

In addition, the straw has a limited carbon footprint when compared to the full package. As an example, the carbon footprint of a 0. The calculations are based on industry average data and for European conditions. For production of liquid packaging board average data as presented by The Alliance for Beverage Cartons and the Environment is used and for aluminium foil data as presented by European Aluminium Association is used.

The impact of the transport of raw materials to the converting factory is included in the converting result and based on European average data. Plants capture and store carbon from the atmosphere.

When wood fibre is processed into paperboard, or sugarcane into plant-based polymers, the finished packaging material contains biogenic carbon captured from the atmosphere. The estimated biogenic carbon content of the packaging material as it leaves the Tetra Pak factory gate — the biogenic carbon in the material - is presented separately and not included in the carbon footprint results, as required by ISO A selection of life cycle assessments LCAs investigating the environmental impact of beverage and food packaging systems are available online.

These studies assess the impact associated with all the stages in the value chain and include comparisons between different packaging formats. You will find more information here. Annually updated The results are based on version 7 of the calculator, published Not for public comparative claims The results should not be used to support comparative claims made to the public.

Cubic Weight Calculator

Example: Volumetric calculation 1 pallet: x x 90 cm Actual Volume - 1. The actual weight of the pallet may be kgs from which the Airfreight will be charged against the volumetric weight kgs. If the pallets actual weight is Kgs it would be charged against the actual weight of the shipment. Skip to content. The resulting dimensional weight is then rounded to the next full pound or half kilogram. For example, a box with dimensions of

For example, a box with dimensions of ”(L) x ”(W) x ”(H), will be considered to be 30”(L) x 20”(W) x 20”(H) = 12, cubic inches.

What Size Space Do You Need?

Remember Me. A shipment's density is one of the factors that determines the freight rate. We need to know how to calculate a shipment's density so we can properly describe their goods on the bill of lading. To determine shipment density, we take the total weight of the shipment and divide it by the total cubic feet. In cases where the shipment is palletized, the dimensions of the pallet determine the cubic dimensions. Although the original dimension of the carton remains the same, the cubic dimensions now include those of the pallet. The density equals the weight 80 lbs for the carton and approximately 30 lbs for the pallet divided by the cubic dimension, 3. CBM is also critical for calculating dimensional weight , chargeable weight , calculating freight class , or for requesting a freight quote. CBM, or in full form cubic meter, is the freight volume of the shipment for domestic and international freight. CBM measurement is calculated by multiplying the width, height and length together of the shipment. This sounds complicated, but using a calculator can make this a quick and easy part of shipping goods. If your shipment has different sized items, simply repeat the formula for each size and add up the volumes. Our free CBM calculator will do the heavy lifting for you — just follow these easy steps:.

Measure the length, width and height of a single unit in either inches or meters. Whichever unit of measurement you use, measure all dimensions.

Calculate the Case Cube of a Box

In the business of shipping goods from one country to another by air, sea or road, you often hear the term CBM being used. Read on to know:. Cubic meter or CBM is a measurement of volume of a shipment. It determines how much space your cargo will take up on a ship, aircraft or truck, which in turn will decide how much it will cost to transport. Say, you have a carton that is 2 metres long, 2 metres wide and 2 metres high.
