Order by:. Available to:. Danelectro Built. Very Good Shape. Danelectro The Traveler, Vintage Guitar amplifer. All Tube, amp, Valco, Airline. I'll try re-listing one more time here. If it doesn't go then i guess I was meant to keep it for a while. I bought this from the original owner in about 88 or so. He figured he got in the early 50's and he played a really cool Gibson lap-steel through it. It's a Danelectro Traveler model.
I couldn't find hardly anything with a Google search on this amp. It has a field-coil type speaker and some very unusual tubes that my tech says are usually found in TVs or radios but are common to amps of this era. I dont know what is all in there.
But I do know when I gave it a check-up a couple of years ago he put some NOS tubes in there and checked out the rest on his tester and everything came back fine. Probably puts out watts. Has that great lo-fi but growling amp tone we all know from"department store" amps of the This one needs nothing, ready to plug in and play.
It reads"Danelectro Corp Red Bank. Volume and tone control what more do you need, right? Sounds really cool with a TS or similar overdrive in front of it. I've enjoyed it but I really dont use it much, so time to let it go. Covering and the fiber-style"grill clothe" are all original, the leather handle was dry and broken when I got it but is still attached. I dont know if one can glue that back or something, but I just left it alone.
I will over-pack it, remove the tubes and label each along with the chassis as to where it goes. Tubes will be wrapped in their own box. Silvertone amp amplifier sears airline danelectro. Silvertone amplifier in decent condition.
Previous owner put a funky hole in the back panel. The power and rectifier tubes are original the preamp tubes have old rca red logo 12ax7a. This amp is in working condition. The has black tolex and the refrigerator style handle on the top. This unit is in very nice condition to be 52 years old it has some minor wear on edges and corners and a tear in the tolex on the left side but is to be expected for its age and just adds to it's character.
This is the early Error model Tremelo was mispelled on the controls panel and reads" Tremlo" so from a collectabity stand point this is the one to have. It was recently inspected by a Master Audio Technician specializing in vintage audio circuits.
Please understand any 50 year old vintage amp in original condition will Several capacitors and a few resistors were replaced with period correct parts so the vintage sound would not be affected. The tensil lead on the speaker was replaced to insure there will be no issue with the speaker.
The 's came with either a Fischer or Jensen speaker I've owned both and the units with the Jensen speaker have a better sound. The stamp on the magnet matches the stamp on the cabinet. When I got this amp I tested all the original tubes on a Hickok B tester.
All tubes tested at or near NOS new old stock All tubes are the original Silvertone labeled factory installed. This amp has that warm tube analog sound with serious MOJO! All the tubes are functional and I believe some to be the original tubes made in USA The tube for the vibrato has been replaced. This amp comes with a cover and has very few cosmetic defects. The amp is a one owner piece which has been lovingly boxed These normally have bad pitting and a rash of rust making this clean beauty even more rare. Tolex and grill cloth are also in incredibly well preserved condition thanks to the proper storage from the previous loving owner Most importantly The amp sounds incredible Addition. I have been flooded with comments and questions and I thank you all for your interest.
In regards to the front panel shots It is a white box reflecting in the pictures seen in the first front panel shots not a crease or discoloration. I will be adding additional photos. Also the speaker is original but not the jensen c You can google this amp and find info pertaining to the other speakers used during this period. This is blue vinyl and shot more of a grey color for some reason. If you wanted a general cleaning would have this looking marvelous as nothing has been done to the amp as of yet.
There is no excessive hum or hissing. The original power and speaker cords are present and all cabinet corners are rigid. Also I have just found a pedal that works fine with the amp.
Kind Regards Jes. Up for bids is a nice example of a Silvertone guitar amp. The amp is in good working condition. It is all original except the handle and one 6SJ7 tube. I have used this amp to gig and record with over the past few years.

Put all that sentimental junk behind us, though, and the Viscount is one cool piece of Americana, regardless, and a groovy little recording amp in and of itself. But by some happy accident, the entire catalog-grade ethos adds up to a fun and funky whole, and an amp with its own unique sonic virtues. TOP The point-to-point wiring of the Viscount is populated by surf-green Sangamo signal caps, red Planet filter caps, and carbon-comp resistors, augmented by a pair of blue filter caps installed in recent years to keep the amp running. The brown disc in the lower-left corner is the underside of the RCA connector that delivers preamp signal to the output stage. The octal socket to the right of the big red filter cap takes the AC and DC supplies, and the tremolo control functions, to the back-panel controls. Hardboard of a thinner grade extends to the fabulous back panel, which serves as home to the controls, as well as that super-odd preamp tube placement. But again, it makes for one nifty USP. In its day, though, the Viscount was intended for clean playing at reasonable volumes, just enough to help students and beginners get in their chops; raunchy rock and roll was less than an afterthought. A look inside the folded-steel chassis provides further thrills for the fan of true point-to-point wiring. Hey, why waste time and money on a circuit board when you can just string it all up from component to component?
