Rather than treat the integrated amplifier as a budget-oriented product unworthy of its best technology, the Canadian firm has instead strived to create truly exceptional products that are simply scaled down in size from their flagship efforts. This path has resulted in a long and unbroken string of great-sounding integrateds, including the Moon i-7 I found so beguiling when I lived with it for a few months nearly 5 years ago. The i-7 stands out in my mind today as being a notch above the competition in build-quality, features, and most importantly, musical performance. When I learned that the year-old Canadian firm had replaced the i-7 with the Moon i, I jumped at the chance to review it. Would the new i live up to the high standards established by its predecessor?

Need advice: Tannoy Reveals, Passive Avantones They sound amazing, and I do reference my material on them but I've been thinking of moving them directly into my mix room as my larger mains.
I was wondering what you guys might think? The studio I'm working out of is also using Blue Sky system 6. I used to have passive Tannoy Reveals. Loved them very much. A very non fatiguing sound. So I know both of your speakers thou I don't know your room. It's that simple isn't it? Put them where your Reveals are and listen to music. Then mix a couple tunes. Burn a cd. Test it out the studio and see hear if they translate. Right now you got your midrange covered with both the Cubes and the Reveals.
What you're lacking is lows and high frequencies. Judah, I do agree, I find the Tannoys to be fairly accurate and yes, not fatiguing. They're pretty smooth sounding, not harsh at all. Which is why I wonder if perhaps they colour the mix too much. Can anyone chime in regarding the BlueSky's? Am I crazy? Top Mentioned Manufacturers. Facebook Twitter Reddit LinkedIn. BOWERS & WILKINS B&W 603 – NEW 600 SERIES FLOORSTANDING SPEAKERS WITH CONTINUUM DRIVERS
The most obvious criticism was that no spikes were fitted for proper floor coupling. The lower part of the apparent main drivers is an unpowered drone cone, which in practice acts as a very well behaved reflex-porting system, The box is a real toughie, built up from 18mm chipboard throughout, with the baffle reinforced by an equivalent depth of plastic moulding, and the wrap by a double figure of eight brace. All is lined in thick foam. The main driver and drone are blessed with cast alloy frames and plastic cones, which are fixed primarily to the plastic sub-baffles by half a dozen rather flimsy screws. The tweeter has a 26mm metal dome and annular phase compensator, and both drivers are tag connected to a printed circuit board crossover that is fed from bi-wire terminals.

It has been tested and is in full working order. The item is in good cosmetic condition but has some rippling on the driver rubbers this does not affect the sound and there is also some damage to the bottom read corner on one of the speakers please see photos. Jonathan M. Hi everyone, I'm am in the market for amp again for my D3. It wasn't cutting it for me. To my ears, the Cyrus won by a long shot. I proceeded to go with Cyrus but got higher models. The upgraded Cyrus gear sounded way better and I was very happy with it.

In the company opened a dedicated, purpose-built research centre titled 'SRE' or 'Steyning Research Establishment' in Steyning , about 10 miles from Worthing. The buildings were fit for audio-related work since they were previously used by SME , the English tonearm designer who felt the downturn in tonearm sales due to the introduction of the new digital media CD. SRE housed a prototype shop and listening rooms, ranging from semi-anechoic to typical small living rooms. Approximately twenty staff support the research facility. It was perhaps no surprise the company attracted the attention of a Silicon Valley start-up, which acquired the business in But that's not to say the company has stood still; as this list testifies. Naturally for a speaker company, it's dominated by stereo speakers, but you'll also find headphones, an iPod dock and even a home cinema system. Inside the speakers a honeycomb-style bracing construction aimed to remove all unwanted resonance and reflections; the design giving the speaker range its Matrix name.
The first to be acquired were the floor standing Castle Kendal. These are beautiful speakers with a real wood veneer finish. They hark from the days when Castle speakers were proudly manufactured in Yorkshire in the North of England. These are now connected to my Denon UD-M30 mini system in the family lounge. They actually take up the same space as the original Denon bookshelf speakers on stands. They were lurking under a table on the floor. He explained that one of them was very thin sounding, with no bass.
Forum Rules. Right on Mike. They are designed for that and really need to be left on to maximize their performance.
Of course, I'm sorry, this doesn't suit me at all. Thanks for the help.
