Syntron® Vibrating Feeders for Light Industry

Discussion in ' Audio Hardware ' started by rocnred , Jul 28, Log in or Sign up. Steve Hoffman Music Forums. Location: San Diego, CA. I have one solid state amp and a tube amp arriving soon. I have one pair of speakers. Both are integrated amps. I will have 1 set of speaker cables coming out of each amp.

I will plug the speaker cable from the amp I am using into the speakers. I have seen many photos of systems with multiple amps and 1 pair of speakers.

I would like to hear real world use recommendations from members who actually have a similar type of setup. I am not a fan of adding things to the signal chain that do not have anything to do with sound. I have seen amp selector boxes, but that just looks like more wires, switches, and variables that can go wrong. I have looked all over the forum and cannot really find a definitive solution besides mine. I have seen recommendations for selector boxes from Russound and a few others.

What do you do? I use a selector switch from Russound. I first used it to switch back and forth between my two pairs of front mains. Later, I used it to switch back and forth between a tube amp and a SS amp that I could use during the day, as I like to have my music running almost all of the time. It is possible that you ran across one of my previous threads on the subject. I like that it has plug in connectors on the back. You wire the connectors separately and then you plug them into the rear of the switch box.

I think it is nonsense that having a switch box like the Russound will degrade your signal in any way. If you want to run two alternate sets of speakers from a single amp, then you need a switch box. You can just keep your speaker cables connected to the speakers , and plug them into the amp you want to you use.
