I tried searching this forum and Wikipedia to get a rough understanding of how speaker wattage relates to speaker power or volume, I suppose. I'm very hesitantly considering buying speakers on eBay because I'll only need them for the next 6 months or so and the price point is close in importance to the speaker quality. As such, however, I won't be able to hear them before purchasing them. Anyway, from what I gather from the Wikipedia article , the watts listed for speakers is basically marketing.
