Cessaro Horn Acoustics in Munich
At this point I just wondered how good the Cessaro really are? This time, however, we were going to listen to Cessaro Affascinate or the one I like to call, the little mushroom.
The Affascinate is more room friendly even if they are nearly 6 foot tall and as heavy as Mike Tyson in his prime, they are still considerably smaller. The speaker is beautifully built if styling is a little bit er, matter of taste! This is a 3 way design with plywood spherical wood horn driver for the midrange, TAD compression drive unit for tweeters and 11 inches Alnico magnet diver responsible the low frequency duty.
Something I thought would be suited to horn speakers and the first thing that impressed me was the rock-solid positioning of the singer. The voices are spooky real, just like the sound of real human, in the room You see, most dealers like to have a collection of Audiophile recordings that are easy to impress the potential buyers. Holy Smoke My toe was tapping like Fred Astaire dancing on hot coles. Guitar solo has that sharp leading edge that make me laugh out loud, the sound was like a concert hall with me They captured the spirit of rock and let loose with impeccable timing which want you to, regardless of your age, play air guitar along with the songs you love.
I spent many more hours with various types of music playing at reasonably loud level, for example, Robbie Williams live at Knebworth, the Cessaro creating the believable imaging that you are listening to the performance, not just hifi.
There was the sound of screaming fans all around me, as close as a metre either side of my listening position. The hairs on the back of my neck stood up, this is one of the best moment in this hobby I have experienced thanks to the soundstage's stunning holistic quality. Are there any weak point then? Yes, but a very minor one. They can only go down to 37Hz if that would bother you!
Bass on Affascinate got controlled and has a good sense of weight and power to it however it cannot do subterranean bass. If you are in a market for high-end speakers with a big price tag and have a big enough room to accommodate a large pair of speakers then I encourage you to have a listen to Cessaro Affascinate, even if you have none of above just like me still, try to go and have a listen anyway. They can do everything I am looking for in a pair of speakers, tonality, detail, sound staging, etc.
Purite Audio 11 posts. March 18, Great reading OB, your opinion is one I trust, being a fellow metal fan I know you'll push a systems limits. I'm visiting Purite in a few months on route to Munich, I look forward to it! I need to visit Keith to have a listen and cup of his excellent coffee as he is pretty close to me. Of course, it's the Alphas you really want Although I find I'm really liking the look of the Chopin And that does go down to a quoted 30Hz.
I might have to have a word with your wife about your PIN number. Nice review OB, glad to read that those speakers sound as good as they look. Nice pose:D. So have you bought them? Why would someone call speakers "A fascist"? No shit. You can post now and register later. If you have an account, sign in now to post with your account. Paste as plain text instead. Best Practice: Munich High End Show ’” Mad, Wonderful and Essential
Stitch wrote: I don't think they are deaf, but honestly, you are the first who writes that this Cessaro Horn room was one of the best at show. Even Woschnik said, it was nothing special. Why they do it I have no idea. That would be Classic Audio Reproduction. But that's only if they are showing the same basic design as last year, which uses modified JBL drivers.

BTW, let me to expand a littlie on my last comment. I kind of understand it and perhaps appreciate it but me being me I looking for something different. I remember once I was lost my driving directions and was wondering across the hilly roads in country side of South Bavaria. I ended up driving up some mountain and found an extremely sexy, almost ruined castle at the top of the hill. There were no people there and I dropped my car and decided to walk around. This led me to a deep forest but it was deferent forest then I knew. I had no idea where this drama came from but it was physically presented in the very moisture air and forest had own sound. One of you guys can add it up for me and tell me if I'm wrong. My problems are not with the people who promote what they like but with the people who can not handle the consequences of criticism.

A new Cessaro desktop horn speaker : It's not a toy!
A new Cessaro horn loudspeaker ,using four field coli drivers. And they are an enormous step up! Ralph designed the Brahms as the Liszt just would not fit in my room. The Liszt was too tall at more than 2 metres, and also too deep. The Brahms is about 1. But it was agreed that if Ralph could find field coil drivers that met or exceeded his expectations then we would use them. In the end Ralph found some wonderful field-coil drivers, the standout to my ears is the astonishingly beautiful GIP Labs A, a replica of the WE A from the s.

In terms of number of exhibits and attendees , it was a far cry from comparable shows held in New York in the boom years of the late 90s and early s, but the excitement level of both exhibitors and attendees left me feeling optimistic about the state of the high end audio industry. First of all, there was a lot more "A" then "V" for an AV show. Most of the rooms featured classic two-channel stereo systems, rather than multi-channel surround sound and there was nary a home theater projection screen or large flat panel TV in sight.
Horn loudspeakers systems developed and manufactured in Germany by perfectionists for perfectionists. Cessaro will recreate your favourite concert hall experience in your listening room. They say you can't put a price on happiness - but if we had all the money in the world to spend on our hi-fi set up, we reckon we'd be pretty content. We decided to do a little bit of detective work to find the most expensive speakers ever made - and we've been blown away by some of the price tags. The majority of the items on this list would be beyond the reach of most customers, but there's no harm in ogling some gigantic shiny speakers with crazy tech inside them. No doubt.
