Yep, you need to daisy chain them. Thanks for the reply! That seems really stupid to me and a potential PIA in setting up. Am a missing an advantage to this vs multiple outs per amp? Flogger59 Member. Messages 11, Yeah, the fact that you can get the second speaker twice as far from the board as the first. Messages 16, Flogger59 said:. Last edited: Jul 29, Messages 5, I've done both, run daisy chain and run all the speakers out the back.
It doesn't make a difference in the sound. But I am wondering about Yamaha's published specs. They state that the amps put out watts " max before clipping" and are watts "nominal". I'm not sure how this translates into the usual power amp specs. Typically, you would see the specs rated as continuous, program and peak.
So, in Yamaha lingo, is nominal the continuous rating? And max before peak, the peak rating? If so, then that head merely puts out watts into a 4 ohm load, which means if you're running two 8 ohm speakers of off one side of the amp, then each speaker is only getting Dont you have that option anyway? Daisychain parallel as opposed to using both outs? Thanks for all the great replies, much appreciated! You must log in or register to reply here. Trending Topics. Guitars in General. Yamaha EMX 512 SC - 12 channel powered Mixer Amp 500W + 500W
Impressions of music and musical equipment from my point of view. You have certainly seen this same mixer being used by bar bands all over the world. In Yamaha math they count inputs with stereo channels twice, but either way, that is enough for whatever I am going to do with this thing. This mixer has dual watt amps max at 4 ohms , so it is plenty loud for most small to medium sized shows. It is a nice looking piece with a nubbly plastic case with built in handles, and it measures 18x12x11 inches, and weighs in at under 20 pounds. It is kind of a big box with a beveled edge on the back so it can be tilted up, or there are a couple of included plugs that keep it from tilting back if that is what you prefer. Those plugs always get lost. The front side of the EMXSC is a lot more complicated, but that is because it is chock full of features. There are also separate 7-band graphic EQs for both the main and monitor power channels. Another neat feature is the power mode switch which allows the two amps to function in stereo, or as separate mono channels for mains and monitor.

But that's nowhere near the whole story - Yamaha EMX-series Powered Mixers offer a range of features that let you mix, process, and deliver your sound with maximum quality and creative control

Advanced features such as compression on each of the mono channels and a feedback indicator on every channel help even an inexperienced sound engineer to get the most out of the PA system, and are especially useful for musicians who are mixing themselves on stage. Both FOH and monitor master sections have a 7-band graphic equaliser. No need for complex setup and wiring — simply plug in and play! Superior Sound through Painstaking Design and Parts Selection Parts selection is crucial to achieving the best possible sound, and Yamaha spares no effort in selecting the best. The critical head amplifier circuit, for example, uses special low-noise chip resistors that are deposited on a thin film of nichrome for accurate, noise-free reproduction. Connectors are also provided for connection to external power amplifiers and effect processors.

From youtube. Yamaha's EMXSC is just such a mixer, the largest in a new series of three powered consoles that offers unusually good on-board effects. The SC has a pair of integral W amplifiers on board, although anyone needing less power … From soundonsound. It does the work as well as all the other power mixers I have used over the years and requires only minimal maintenance service once a year. This is my second Yamaha and I give this product a big thumbs up!
