Effects: Tremolo Watts: 12 Watts Tubes. This amp is fixed bias with V on the plats bit still only produces 12w output. My guess is that it uses an 8k OT and has a lot of screen resistance 5k.
The secondary voltage should be around Vac for the Vdc plate with a 5y3. Finally add a 12ay7 in v1 and you should have more wattage…. U think I could put a 5au4 rectifier in EC tremolux without hurting it?
I use allesandro bias kit, set amp to around 28 so far…would I raise or lower it with 5au4? Has any one successfully modded this amp? I bought a separate cabinet with a 15 inch and three 4 inch speakers and used the amp as a head.

I don't exactly know the name of the amp but it is tweed so I'm guessing a Blues Deluxe or in that family. I read somewhere though that he had it modded and I love the sound of it.

Singer and blues guitarist Eric Clapton has been a member of the Fender family for years. In addition to his famous Stratocasters he also often employs classic Fender guitar amplifiers. This is why these two music-industry legends have collaborated to create a signature amplifier.
Finding and restoring old amps and cabinets is a slow process that demands patience. From the time we first began trolling eBay, ultimately scoring a tweed Vibrolux and Tremolux, to final delivery of the aged cabinets and assembly of the amps, six months had easily passed. Otherwise, it was pretty straight, with the original blown Jensen P10R intact, and the original transformers, caps and resistors. The inside of the cabinet had been painted black, but the cabinet, grill cloth, baffle and control panel were otherwise intact, and the wooden tremolo footswitch was included.
Capacitor values have changed slightly over the years due to changing manufacturing standards. In some cases, 5uF has been replaced with 4. Many 20uF and 25uF have been replaced with 22uF. On Ruby Gold capacitors in our standard kits, the polarity of the capacitor is indicated only by an arrow on the side of the capacitor which points toward the negative end. On Ruby Gold capacitors, both ends of the capacitor are "dimpled", so you cannot determine polarity that way. Disclaimer: Fender occasionally made changes to designs which are not consistent with the model version on the tube chart. Especially in the "silverface" years, the internal designs sometimes do not correspond with the schematic for the particular model version shown on the tube chart.
Wayne, Indiana. That amp worked pretty well with my Rick string. That amp turned out to be an early-production Pro-Amp. I started to investigate the world of pre-CBS Fender amplifiers.
