For example - I have a pair of Acoustic Zen Adagio speakers that have front bass ports at the bottom. When I sit in front of the speakers with them toed an slightly, they sound really clear and detailed but with less bass than when I am standing up or in a different position in the room. I ask because I have heard that some speakers are better suited away from the rear walls usually rear ported speakers , some are better suited toed in, others straight on etc. I can't find anything particular to my Zens on the net so I thought that I would ask you guys. IMO it's very very room dependant. You can have more fun by altering your seating position, which is as important to room resonance as where you put the speakers. If you are firing down the length od the room, try putting the speakers about 1 meter in from the corners, about 60cm out from back walls and toed in to aim at your listening seat. Position the listening seat approx two thirds of the distance from the back behind speaker wall to the opposite end of the room ie one third down from the wall behind you.
