Quilter Labs SuperBlock UK 25-watt Guitar Head

I never ever watch these thingys. But I did now. The tweedy switch sounded like generic overdrive. The other two were really indistinguishable to my ears. I dunno. How did you come across the vids, Ruger?

It's the only solid state amp I've played that I really like. It has that bouncy, juicy, crystal clear but full-bodied clean tone that I've only found in tube amps.

There is a sort of resonant harshness the rears it's head once in awhile, but the Gain, Limiter, and EQ controls are very useful in dialing it out. The inputs each have their own character and they all sound great, which is a relief because I really liked the idea, but wasn't sure how well it would translate to the real world. I played a MicroPro Mach 2 in a store and was not impressed by the almost undiscernible difference between the tone modes "Smooth, Lead, Surf", etc.

If you're referring to me, I'm afraid I was out of the loop on this one. I used to beta-test stuff for them, but it's been a while since I've done that, they've grown enough that they can find better players than me to test things out for them.

I can't find a price or any availability for this. Probably shouldn't buy anything like that anyway Stay happy with my Joyo American Sounds pedal which gives me all the Fender amp sounds when recording at home. From Neil Young bucket farting to blackface glass. All good and very cheap. Someone posted about the amp on the jazz guitar forum, I clicked that link which took me to Quilter's website, I clicked on their link and it took me to the 1st video. I had a Joyo American Sound.

For about 30 minutes LOL, it was godawful. Couldn't return it fast enough. Didn't sound anything like the demos. Maybe I got a lemon, or maybe QC is slipping at Joyo, but mine sounded like crap. They could probably repackage the exact same pedal and label it "JTM45" 'AC15" and something else without anyone really noticing or protesting. It didn't mix too well with anything but itself though. Just added a little delay before and then then straight into my recorder.

Soooo, is the Superblock US pretty much the same as the Aviator Cub, but with a lower power rating of 25w and not a combo of course? Plus you're right Walter, I often wonder how familiar we all are with all these old amps apart from our internet or sim experience and whether we can tell the difference in a blind test.

I couldn't. When it comes to Fenders, I'm familiar with a lot of them. Which is why I think these Gizmos are mostly just Yes but I think you're in the minority. I've thought for a long while that people's knowledge of the various big name amps is via sims and YouTube rather than real life experience.

In some ways I think it's fair enough, if you been able to play on a big stage and had the opportunity to crank these amps up, you're lucky. Sounds good to me Please help support the Gretsch Pages through Paypal. It's quick, easy, and much appreciated! Frank knows more This one is quite a bit better. He got the guitar to speak well with different settings. I shared that one with you.

I give up What is BRT? I'm gonna guess "Bright," but if I can get a definitive answer, I'll pass it along. Of course, I'm going to have to get one or both of these, They're too cool not to. All good and very cheap How did you come across the vids, Ruger?

Tavo found the 2nd video with RJ. The world needs to hear! LOL I can't find a price or any availability for this. All good and very cheap I'm not sure if it's out yet?

I think they are! I'm not sure if it's out yet?

Thanks for stopping by my site. The secret is out about Quilter amplifiers. Guitarists seeking reliable tube tone in a compact and lightweight package have eagerly adopted this new line of amplifiers and flooded the market with used tube amps. If you want to buy my Fender Blues Jr, send me a message. Instead, my goal is to explain how Quilter amps can sound as good as tube amps while being so tiny and weighing so little. My Quilter MicroPro Mach 2 combo was designed by Pat Quilter: a college dropout, renaissance man, and legendary audio equipment designer working out of Orange County, California. In the late s, Quilter began building solid state bass and guitar amps, but his business soon fizzled out because—contrary to his expectations—tube technology remained the preferred choice of professional musicians.

Pat Quilter went back to the drawing board and had a breakthrough in his pedal format technology. Quilter Labs is excited to offer all of their tonal secrets in the pedal format for the first time. This is the first of our amplifiers to feature AC voicings. Both amplifiers are as capable as 25 watt tube amplifiers when powered by the supplied PS power supply and have the option of being powered by a conventional 9 volt power supply for a surprisingly potent one watt of power. When I watch the comparison videos I have always been able to tell the my Tonemaster/ Cub dilemma by ordering a Quilter Superblock US.

I never ever watch these thingys. But I did now. The tweedy switch sounded like generic overdrive.

Quilter Labs helped popularize the pedalboard amplifier as we know it. Today, Pat Quilter brings his top-notch analog amp engineering to the brightest and best of the bunch: the SuperBlock UK. This pedalboard-sized watt amp head gives you all the muscle you need to push a stage cab, drive a PA, and self-monitor directly from your pedalboard. The SuperBlock UK's three British voicings look back to an electrifying time in the guitar amp's history, with tones on tap that range from mop-top jangle and stadium-rock pomp to high-voltage master-volume overdrive — all in an easy-gigging format.
