Would you buy an amp with similar features and slightly less juice if you could save a hundred bucks? It pretty much has all same stuff as the A90, save a bit of output power max output 3 watts. It even looks a little bit like the A Thanks to them for the opportunity! As soon as I took the H out of the box, I was pleasantly surprised at the heft of this amplifier. The aluminum casing and faceplate are quite thick, as is the rear panel.

Firstly I would like to thank GrandView for sending me this sample to review, as always I try to write honest reviews. This unit received over 50hrs of burn-in, no differences were noted. The SA comes in a simple blue and yellow card box, the amp is held tightly in place in foam, and the power supply is also well secured. The box is nothing fancy or special, but serves it purpose of protecting the amp during transit. The SA is a well built amp in my opinion, the metal chassis is very well finished without blemishes. The volume knob operates very smoothly and the inputs and outputs are all of good quality. Accessories are not included, you get the amp and power supply, that is it.

In what I can only assume is an unholy mixture of black magic, witchcraft, and high-tech electronics, SMSL has redefined what I know about speaker amplifiers. I admit it. In my mind, stereos consist of several large, heavy, metal boxes connected with garden-hose-sized wires to a pair of giant wooden monoliths. A proper stereo needs about 20 square feet or so of floor space to set up correctly, and they tend to have a dominating and overwhelming presence in a room.

As mentioned previously , I found myself in the position of needing to update my computer workstation desktop speaker system. While active speakers are great in that the built-in amplifiers and transducers can be well-matched and optimized, the ability to "mix-n-match" passive speakers while opening up the potential to upgrade amplifiers I think is fun for the hobbyist. As such, I found myself drawn to getting a small low-power Class D amplifier like this.
