How would an EL84 integrated do with rock music pushing fairly efficient 90dB speakers vs. Are there generalizations that can be made or is it impossible to say simply depends on the amp? Obviously power output is likely about 10 watts vs 20 watts, generally speaking. This tube is intriguing as there are quite a few relatively affordable amp options out there that use it.

Hello everyone! Decided to scrap an old Grundig tube radio yesterday. The speaker was busted and the radio tuning was not working properly, could not change channel. The amp itself was working, and with an external speaker connected it played both quite loud and with a nice soft tone to it. I am thinking about using the transformers and making a smallish mono amp with it. Output tube will be the el84 from the Grundig. Unsure which driver tube I could use. I know I have some 6n1p, 6n23p ecc88 6n3p, ecc
