Since Media Mail is not inspected by the Usps, Technically since I packaged my amplifier using a few smooshed up news paper pages, I could ship it as media mail right? Maybe through in an old magazine so I feel better about it? I see it as payback for them accepting my packages and having them sit in their office for days because they don't do their job. Nothing like defrauding the Post Office. They reserve the right to open any package sent via Media Mail, and they DO open those packages sometimes. If they do, then it comes right back to you, you have to pay the difference in the shipping, and they can charge you with mail fraud. Including a magazine or newspaper doesn't work. You can only ship something via Media Mail if everything in there is approved media. For example, if you ship a book to your mom for her birthday and include a card, you can't use Media Mail.
