I went to Bestbuy with the old speaker and they tried to sell me a new system duh claiming the amp of the center channel is damaged. I was hesitant, didn't buy anything, went home, hooked up another speaker 4 ohm center from another system and it appears to be working fine so that's why I think the speaker needs to be replaced and not the amp. Here is the weird thing: the center speaker appears to be 3 ohm instead of 2, 4 6 or 8. I think the best thing to do is go for a 4 ohm but want to see what the experts that's you!
