User Name Remember Me? Amp to Cab help? Hey folks got a question.. I just got a old PV cab thats loaded with G"s and there is no indication left to really ID it..
It say ? I looked inside and the dude was pushing me to make the deal and he kept telling me it don't matter nor did it matter about a speaker cable.. I told him hey if you can't let me check it out then, I would call off the trade and just get the Marshall a someone else had. Question two, I need help to ID what cab this really is.. I trying not to open cab again being the screws are about gone but if I have to I can.. All Speakers are 16 Ohm. Roland Cube 20X. Last edited by MuskRatt; at PM.
With those speakers, it should be a 16ohm cab. It should contain 4x 16ohm speakers with each pair wired in parallel for 8ohms, then both pairs wired in series for a total of 16ohms.
Check the speakers and the wiring. Verify with a multimeter. The neighbors are listening. I never used one like this before.. Originally Posted by MuskRatt. I seen no additional disconnect in the jacks themselves. They are both standard jacks. Those jacks I bought did in fact use the cut off when inserted in order to bypass..
For the life of me I have looked and tried everything but all diagrams say it is wired wrong. So if nothing else I need to rewire it to just all four speakers as a mono 16 Ohm. I can just remove the other jack all together. I mean you can see in the photo in the 2nd post looking at the wiring as it goes up it goes all weird..
I guess I work on it in the morning. Hope to have a few more posts.. I called PV and also sent the info to them. They were able to get back with me in a couple hours. Here is what they sent. Thank you Sus and Pauln for your replies. I can now be sure what I have and got all the info all together!
It has four 16 ohm Celestion G12K speakers rated at 85 watts each wired in series-parallel for a total of 16 ohms. Both input jacks are wired in parallel go to the same place. So, you may use either one as an input and the other input as an output when " daisy-chaining " two speakers together input to input. This is the parallel part: Both input jacks - blue wire go to the - terminals of the top two speakers.

It still has the stock Sheffield s not s or s. However, I'm getting more into the Marshall sound these days. I've got a Plexi Super Lead clone and I'm just not getting that fat, chewy midrange with the stock speakers in the MS. They have a more scooped Celestion G12T type sound.

Well built 4x12 cab bargains? Tue Jan 22, pm. I might be in the market for 4x12 cab. Looking for something around the size of the Marshall A, angled cab preferred. What are some cabs that are well made but also cheap on the used market? The speakers don't really matter because I have some Eminence that will be going into it, so build quality is my only real concern. Re: Well built 4x12 cab bargains?
