But Arcam's AVR — its latest flagship AV receiver — has me thinking we may be seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. This relatively small English company, famous for its hi-fi equipment, threw itself back into AV in a big way with the AVP processor and AVR receiver a couple of years ago — both very solid-sounding devices, top-notch in their price bands. And this is no mere upgrade on the AVR — it's a different beast altogether.

Sorry for too many questions. Thanks Rlal. Bruel and Kjaer target curve I have recreated the Bruel and Kjear target response curve for use in REW after not being able to find it on the internet. I have now moved from to this curve full time for music and movies and very happy with the sound. I hope one person finds this useful.

I had the opportunity to very quickly do a one-spot Dirac measurement with the room in 'theatre mode' with projector screen down, curtains closed, and a large 4m wide, floor-to-ceiling thick blackout cloth partition cutting light out from the kitchen - the cinema room is open plan to the kitchen on one side.

Anyway, I was quite surprised to find that the frequency response from that single measurement from the sweet spot was very similar to the measurement I took, from the same spot, with the room just normal projector screen up in the ceiling, all curtains opened, open to the kitchen.

There really isn't a sufficient difference for me to bother with having two sets of Dirac measurements. Incidentally, the Dirac filters are really good. I have a set of custom filters on my Roon setup in my dedicated listening room and so I kind of know what to expect.
