There have been many mods developed over the years that have improved on the original design, If you are adventurous, you can google these mods, and also especially search on diyaudio forum online, you will see some mods address the common variance in DC offsets that yours has, but again, your amplifier is fine and within the Tripath Specs.
Note: Obviously modding the amplifier will void the manufacturer's warranty. Mine didn't plug up either, I was going to replace. I notice its not 12V 5A. Its V I hope it didn't blow it up. Will 14 gauge wire fit fine with this? Don't know how heavy 14 gauge is, but I use heavy lamp wire to my speakers and no problem. Can this amp work with the Micca MB42x? Your speakers are rated much higher then the amp can put out.
So your going to get a percentage of what they care capable of. I have an old turn table and stereo and can't get any volume beyond a whisper. I have been told I need an amp. This is a common need when you use an older turntable to play vinyl as the audio source. Can I run a turntable through this into small Bose book shelf speakers? If your turnable does not have a built in turntable, you should put one between the amplifier and the turntable. Wil this overheat if enclosed in a small speaker housing?
I doubt it.

Hi All I'm in the middle of building my Dcb1turbo, I built my first earlier this year and had it finished by Alan Firebottle It turned out to be a very good preamp indeed, I then sold this project to Macca on this forum only because Id like to push my next build and make a few changes, these will be listed along with pictures as i progress with the build. Im still unsure if I will run this board at Ma or 1. At Ma the Aluminium base will be the heatsink but at over an amp will need some serious cooling. The Aluminium Case arrives tomorrow along with some huge heatsinks then i can start putting my preamp together. Steve, I'd love to have something to add!!!! All the chassis and ridings are just leaving China and the Toriody tx and Khozmo are winging their way to me as we speak. I've managed to nearly finish the board but I've concentrated on finishing the Bigbottle. Now that's done, I will finish the DCB1 board. I have a suspicion I can run this board at 1. Gonna have to check kind you.

Studio Monitor Upgrade. They're ok, nothing special. My only complaint is that they don't reproduce sub frequencies very well so that tends to screw with my mixes a bit when auditioning on other sound systems. Any recommendations for a reasonable upgrade? Nothing ridiculously expensive.
