I have both types. My amp runs at v and 90mA, two stages, RC coupled. In this amp, the graphite plates sound more dynamic with strong bass, while the copper plates sound more refined with subtler nuances but softer bass than the graphite.

Then for driving the grids I was thinking using KT66 triode strapped kathode followers. Maybe I could use a choke in the kt66 kathode.
I want to stay all tube so also for the drivers to the grids. For the phase splitter I like the split load a lot. Using an interstage transformer for phase splitting also looks nice. Last time I checked how to calculate this it is indeed 3k for one half and for A-A you have to multiply this by 4 2times the voltage is 4 times the impedance it gets confusing This brings me to 3k or 2k4. Then the output impedance has to be low enough. The load on the combined grids goes down to a minimum of ohm - ohm. So as I read somewhere the output impedance must be at least 10 times lower then the load to avoid distortion so that makes A single kt66 kathode follower is not going to cut it I think.
Anyone tried sweep tubes as kathode followers? I remember they could deliver a fair amount of peak current. Any other nice driver tubes? Then I have another question about the loadlines.
