Paradise Cove Swimming Hole Trail is a 1. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from May until September. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Great little trail with a variety of short and fun terrains. Went Wednesday morning about 9am, only a couple hikers heading in as I was heading back.
Had a great time cliff jumping. Lots of people there on a Monday afternoon but everyone was having a blast and rooting eachother on. Too many people, everyone has started parking on private land and walking in the road way around a blind hill. If the parking lot is full, come again a different day.
Easy trip with an incredible view. Very disappointed on how trashed people left it. Towels, light sticks, underwear, cans, bottles I spent 10 minutes gathering all the garbage and clothing. It's a real shame. Please clean up after yourself so that we can all continue to enjoy this spot. Trail was short walk with a couple of steep climbs to swimming hole.
Definitely go on a weekday. Bring exact change for parking. The hike itself is short and not difficult. The watering hole was a cool sight but smaller than we anticipated- if there were more people on that Friday it would have been pretty crowded.
It was fun to be in the water and jump from the cliff. A great sight to see and experience but we had our fill after about an hour and a half. I would suggest getting there early on the weekends or rather anytime during the week! Good hiking trail, watering hole was small.
Water was freezing cold. Definitely recommend to go when its really hot not overcast. Crowded on weekends but still worth the stop if you dare to jump! Extremely overcrowded. Lots of people drinking and smoking despite prohibitions. I've seen better behavior at Florida spring breaks than amongst this party crowd. Beautiful scenery, but shame it cannot be shared responsibly. SO many people. Great hike and fun cliff diving spot, but it was overly crowded during mid-summer.
Such a fun and beautiful trail! A great short hike. Absolutely breathtaking in the snow! One of the easiest and nicest hikes in Teller County. The best part is the beauty of the hike to the cove itself.
Amazingly nice. Right now there is no fee to park. When we came there today, we were the only ones there. In the swimming season this get overrun and you may have trouble finding a spot to park. It was so beautiful great experience. I live down the road from this place. I avoid it till it cools off then go down. Fun winter hike! Waterfalls are amazing frozen. Path is really clear.
I have done this a couple times! The payoff was a little underwhelming. There were a lot of people and the hike was short and off the beaten path. Short trail to the swimming hole. This was a nice short hike. We had young children and older adults with us and they were able to do this. It is short but we packed a lunch and made a few hour trip out of it. Gorgeous short walk to the water hole. However as we left around 2 tons of people were filing in.
Not much room to swim with people jumping but the jumping is tons of fun! The trail is easy and beautiful. And if you remember to bring a bag to help with the trash that is there, that would be really cool. We got there around pm yesterday and stayed for about an hour. Arrived around am - very short hike in with only a few people already at the pool. By mid afternoon there was probably 20 or 30 people there, even on a Monday. Use Navigator in the AllTrails app and join the other outdoor explorers who have completed this trail.
Paradise Cove Swimming Hole Trail moderate Length 1. There are regulations in place: no alcohol, no overnight camping, no amplified music, no target shooting, no glass, pets must be on a leash, and parking in designated areas only. Visitors are only allowed to use the area between dawn and dusk. You will be rewarded for your modest effort with an afternoon of fun, and a whole lot of good stories to tell your friends.
The cove itself is a small but deep pool, fed by a small waterfall. The pool is surrounded by steep granite cliffs that provide diving platforms for the adventurous. There are three different heights, each providing different levels of thrills and danger. Aside from swimming and cliff jumping the site is very scenic and a fun place to just hang out. Cliff jumping is very dangerous - proceed at your own risk. From Florissant, follow Teller County Road 1 south for about 9. Follow County Road 11 for 4.
Follow County Road for 2. On foot, cross the road and follow a foot trail in direction North for about 0. As you hike the trail you will cross Guffey Creek Several Times. None of the crossings are bridged. After a short hike you will come to the cove. The top of the cove is marked with a sign warning of the danger of jumping. The trail down to the swimming hole is short and steep. There are some nice rocks and a small beach area to hang out on.
You can take a dip in the jade colored pool, or if your feeling adventurous take a plunge from one of the granite outcroppings. Don't bring glass bottles, they are prohibited and I have seen sheriffs ticketing for this. Bring along a trash bag to pack out your trash, along with any other trash you find at the cove. During Easter Week of , my wife Diane and I took a two-day trip down then incomplete Interstate 81 to smaller roads leading to the small town of Union Grove, North Carolina. On stage in the school gym was an older man fiddling up a storm and wriggling his body to his music. It turned out to be the legendary Clark Kessinger, heard here on four tracks. We then wandered over to Bob Douglas, from southern Tennessee and who in had worked with the Allen Brothers, playing some lovely fiddle music. I then had a pleasant discussion with Wade Ward. This was followed by recording a succession of musicians, including fiddler H.
