I have inserted it in my system and for now I can say that I am very happy. The background noise has decreased, the gain has increased, the scene has opened with a generally soft and precise behavior. The best thing is that it has no deep switches, resistors or various buttons for adjustment.

It's just like that. Thus removing the usual too many variables that derive from the regulation. I think this model already has some springs on its shoulders, but at an internal look, it is well-ordered, clean and with the welds in excellent condition.

I must say that the sound of my analog set up also stood out well in the Meridian digital set up. The PSB Stratus Gold that I use are, in my opinion, a bit inaccurate; probably the increase in gain and the different setting from the old pre phono translate into a higher level on the bass with the consequent exaltation of the small defects of the speakers mentioned above.

Now I will try to leave the Lector on for a while. Some phono preamps that I have and that I have had are always to be left in tension for better results. However for now, given the small monetary outlay, I would say that I could be absolutely satisfied with the performance of this Lector, with a warm and non-fatiguing sound.

Regards Miki. Playing really well, that cartridge that I had never loved because it seemed to me off and not very detailed, has become alive. Excellent sound stage, clean and crystalline sound, good depth and good space. Maybe the Pro Ject MM phono or the various preamp inputs had never done it justice. This Lector manages to really bring out pleasant music. I'm really enjoying listening to Dire Straits' Communique. The background noise is very low, the instruments well defined and good depth.

The shell used is audio-technical like the cables. I must admit that it is the first time that I also appreciate an MM cartridge. The duo works and despite the simplicity of the Lector MM70, without adjustments, it seems that the Shure is also at ease. So successful experiment, I must admit that the Friday afternoon tour of the Hi-fi stores had an excellent effect on my system with the introduction of this middle-aged pre phono, which proves to be able to do its job very well.
