Amplifier Worship: The Ultimate Guide to Boris’ Crazy Discography
The month gestation period behind Michael Jackson's Dangerous album and its lead single 'Black Or White' saw '80s studio perfectionism taken to extremes — and despite their success, the experience helped to convince co-writer, engineer and co-producer Bill Bottrell that there had to be another way to make records. Grammy Award-winning producer, engineer, composer and musician Bill Bottrell has amassed some pretty amazing credits since leaving college in and first seeking work inside a recording studio. Most recently he has been performing live with various bands that he's assembled close to his studio near Mendocino in Northern California, while also running and maintaining said facility, and co-composing, producing, engineering and mixing Five For Fighting's second album, The Battle For Everything, released this year on the Sony Music label. Even when he was working on projects like Michael Jackson's Dangerous album, Bill Bottrell — shown here in the early '90s — was looking for ways to bring his country and roots influences to bear.
CLASSIC TRACKS: Michael Jackson 'Black Or White'
Big Tent Revival 's come a long way since their debut album a few years ago. Their blues rock has become widely accepted hits like "Two Sets of Joneses" have quickly become modern classics. In the summer of , they released their sophomore effort, Open All Nite , a large leap of maturity and musical excellence. Open All Nite should be remembered as a musical work of art in the coming years, and most likely the band's best record. But BTR, becoming seemingly more aggressive live than on their records, has decided it was time to put some of that fire into their recorded material. Amplifier is the result. Amplifier fails to top Open All Night , but the changes the band makes with this album almost makes comparisons obsolete. There's such a big difference between them, you may be forced to put them into two totally different categories.
New Amplifier Album Announced (‘Echo Street’); UK Tour Dates in March
Amplifier is the debut album of the Manchester alternative rock band Amplifier. The Music For Nations release came in two formats: jewel case with 10 tracks, and digipack with 13 tracks. Unlike normal special editions, the track version's bonus tracks are in the middle of the album, apparently forming the "true" album as the band intended it. The SPV release contains a bonus EP with four additional tracks all previously released and videos of two songs from the original. Enjoy it in all its infinite glory" Kerrang!

But whether you're eyeing up a new model, or just want to breathe new life into the old one, here's how to get the most from your player. And, in turn, your music collection. So handle with care, and always put the disc back in its case rather than leaving it loose to act as a coaster at your next party. After all, if the maximum information isn't being retrieved from the disc, it's impossible to replace the lost data further down the playback chain.
The Lady in the Balcony: Track By Track
Determined to play, he brought his band together at Cowdray House in the English countryside to film and record. Where's Eric! Man of the World: Another Peter Green classic originally performed by Fleetwood Mac, starts with drone footage of Eric strolling in the grounds. A well disguised intro with Nathan playing a gentle funky melody, Steve picks up on brushes, this is a complete rearrangement, with Eric taking a seemingly effortless, but so effective, solo on the 6-string Martin. Bell Bottom Blues: Eric and Bobby Whitlock song from the Layla album; a false start and smiles all round, Nathan on the acoustic 5-string bass skillfully takes the high melody on the chorus. Eric delivers an incredibly fluid and melodic solo on his Martin; pure magic. Key to the Highway: blues standard, also from the Layla album, there have been so many different arrangements of this song over the years but here it is performed as a barrelhouse piano shuffle, with Chris driving it along and adding neat licks throughout. I defy anyone not to be moved by the emotion coming out of this version, which benefits hugely from the smaller band arrangement.
Virtuoso Thirteen

Amplifier: "As you get older, you realise music’s about having fun"
Following ambitious projects in their discography, the intent with the latest was to produce a straightforward blast of rock and to have fun. So — no overdubs — no smoke and mirrors. Fans have a choice of formats, with a Standard version, a Media Book version and also vinyl. Two extra songs appear on the Media Book version. Strangely, I had an urge to do the Egyptian Sand Dance to this ask your grandparents. The musicianship from all four members on this record is superb.
Eternity Album
On Nov. The song bore little resemblance to the Roxy Music - and Japan-inspired music on the Birmingham band's self-titled debut — and it also sounded far different than a rerecorded version of "My Own Way" that would eventually surface on 's Rio. Instead, the single take boasted nimble disco strings, a brisk tempo, head-spinning rhythmic grooves and Nick Rhodes' viscous synthesizer blooms. It felt more like a late-'70s dance-floor fire-starter than a new wave tune — and the band members ended up not quite liking where the song landed.
