I really enjoyed them for years, untill 2 years ago the left side did not work anymore. I probably played to much on the buttons i. Then I did put them on a Rotel BX amp.

Your Loudspeaker history Sony floorstanders that what hifi rated. Pioneer CS from the 80s A small 3 way Monitor Audio from the 80's - can't recall the model number Heybrook HB1 - drove these so hard from an underpowered amp that I melted the bass unit voice coils. These would be the set I would grab to save if the house was on fire. After wife, kids and dog of course. Zaph ZA5. Transmission line with ribbon tweeter.

Sold these to a friend who still has them. Nice to hear them again when I visit. I liked these but not as much as the guy who helped my daughter pass her maths GCSE. Sold them to him for peanuts and he was so pleased. Not as pleased as I was though as the wailing and moaning about maths stopped. Hoopsontoast , Jul 2, Not that many Wharfedale Denton SP1 - perhaps they were good and the system was crap? Mission s - first serious speakers. Bought solely on magazine reviews. Later realised how tiring they were so Kef Coda 3s - auditioned these with about 6 others including Heybrook HB1s and they were the clear winners.

Swallowed more propaganda so auditioned and bought Linn Index mk 1 - OK for a while but still too bright so bought second-hand Linn Index mk 2 - Very underrated speakers and dirt cheap now. Stayed with them for quite a while but had to scratch the floorstanding itch so bought 2nd hand Linn Keilidhs - for an electronic deep dance music bass line they were fantastic, really shifted some air.

Anything else was a mess. A few amp upgrades still couldn't control them Linn Kans - In complete contrast had no bass. At all. Replaced by second-hand bought from 2 faced bastard Naim SBLs - Because the aforementioned bastard had stored them in his damp garage, set-up was a nightmare.

Worth it in the end apart from a sibilance problem. To cure got Naim SL2s - cheapest pair ever because of no crossovers and a big gouge out of 1 top. Easy to set up and sound sublime. Still had treble sibilance but recently traced to room problem. Now very happy chappy. These are very probably the last speakers I will ever own unless they fall to bits or I blow them up. There are now two system of high fidelity, monophonic monaural and stereophonic. Monophonic is a system that starts from one microphone and is fed through a single high fidelity set. Stereophonic is a double system. Two separate microphones are placed at different sides of the orchestra and two different systems are used to keep the two signals or channels separated. Two separate speakers are used, placed on different sides of you room. Stereo is much like 3-D photography, two slightly different sound reach your ears giving you a new dimension in sound. I bought a pair of these back when they came out in but sadly got damaged in a house move, luckily good old ebay I was able to source a pair of mint condition ones. I've tried many speaker s over the years these and thier bigger brothers the s are by far the best sounding speakers I've ever bought, they are extremely well built and sound flipping awesome, the cones are like a fiber weave construction with solid thick rubber surrounds not the usual foam surrounds like on many speakers, certainly built to last what with now being 21 years old and certainly capable of taking some power, I have mine hooked up to my old Sony power amp and they really pack a punch. Howdy, Stranger! It looks like you're new here.

Mission 700's, not impressed!

Excellent posting I have yet too hook-up mine but really looking forward to process. More likely simply a capacitor, but maybe also added a choke for effect??? Now I think I might take off the back of mine just to sneak a peak. Thanks again, made me smile broadly.

Eltax AVR-200...any good?

Back in the early s, Mission was a young, fast growing and fiercely ambitious company. While it had just launched a turntable, arm, cartridge and an amplifier in a short amount of time, speakers remained its core business. The original Mission 70 was an early attempt at a budget box. Little more than a year later, the MkII version was launched, and even though it shared the same model number and clamshell appearance, pretty much everything was changed. The cabinet is made in two halves, and is held together by the four screws visible on the back panel.

In terms of sound per pound value, you'll be hard pushed to beat this neat little system. But the nine-strong Chorus 'S' series takes a very different approach to both sound and looks. While the speakers are far from ugly, they're not overly well-endowed in the partnerpleasing dark arts of line and form.

Available in 42 countries. Control of treble and mid-range poor.

Mission's nomenclature is not the most straightforward around, and the company's obsession with the number seven can sometimes cause confusion. Those with memories as long as mine, for example, will doubtless recall a previous - not a loudspeaker, but an ingenious tonearm design which flourished in the late '70s. The new 77 Series of loudspeakers represents one of two distinct ranges which have just been introduced to succeed the long-standing and highly successful series of budget models. The super-slimline 77s are a more upmarket solution. Designed to appeal to Mission's 'traditional customer base', they're better looking, better finished and altogether neater than the 'rude-boy' s.
