POWER X AMPLIFIER - Amplificatori, preamplificatori
I noticed the part number on your board shown in P What you appear to have is an amplifier with twice the max output of the ! A Sure electronics special?! I did seriously consider the smpsr, but after reading the ir spec sheet it was clear the usable power output was actually about w per channel at 8 ohms, and the distortion had a double peak after this point. The w max figure is quoted at 70v by IR. I've spent the rest of my budget to counter power bus pumping instead of going for ear splitting volume!
AB can drive a 4 ohm load, and puts out nearly identical wattage to AB at this lower impedance, which is interesting. Another advantage you have with that amp, its bridgeable. It would make a mean subwoofer amplifier at w x 1 I've taken some construction ideas from your build, like the noisy side of the smps to keep away from the signal path. So SURE electronics documentation shows the amp requires 2 power supplies wired together at v and the mods mention 2 - 48v supplies or 2 - 48v supplies turned up to 56v working with the higher power 2xw version.
So at the very least the 2xw version needs 2 power supplies 48v minimum to 2 supplies at 65v. I'm curious how you are getting away with one power supply. Are there any bad side effects from not using the suggested 2 power supplies? The amp requires two supplies one a positive supply the other a negative supply. How did you calculate 6. I'm looking for 30 dB gain -- 40 is way too much. My calculation is based on the iraudamp7d.
This is full output for the Wx2 module. Hello Rodrigo, I'm not entirely sure of your question as its seems to be lost in the translation. I assume your question is a good source for the amplifier? These modules are made to connect directly to a PC as a source.
I feed it from a computer line out,and I used a 50W driver 4ohm. There is no sound under certain level. Then it distorted as like a nonpolarised transistor, piking up uly the spikes. ANy idea where to look. Thank you. Hello, Does your module have the potentiometers to adjust the frequency?
This is where I would look first. Yes it has. No improvement all the way around. Ill check the voltages around the chip tomorrow. Appreciate your answer. Lucky I did not throw them out. Boleh bertanya Saya punya irs 1x watt rusak Saya Ingin tahu penyebab mospet nya terbakar Mospet tipe fb31n20d. I am not specialist in electronics but just for hobby i play with electronixs. Yamaha is the latest company with good tidings for its upcoming refresh: the RX-Vx81 series.
To push the metaphor to its breaking point, the RX-V is the first sled in the sky and also happens yamaha rx-v subwoofer.
Can it be fed at more than 70 v? The problem with traditional amplifiers are the amount of heat generated per unit of consumed energy. Class A amplifiers have the worst efficiency. Some hardcore audiophiles swear this is the best topology since it results in the least amount of distortion, due to the fact that the "switches" are always on. Class D theory has been around for decades. However it's only the availability of recent technology of cost effective semiconductor switches MOSEFTS that operate at high frequency that have made this topology a reality for commercial based applications.
Pulse width modulation works by a carrier frequency that is fed into a comparator with the desired input signal. The result is a square wave pulse train that is a digital PWM representation of the analog input signal.
The square wave pulse train at the amplifier output is then converted into an analog representation by a low pass filter. The Class D topology is not a silver bullet. It has its own unique problems. The output low pass filter has a poor rolloff typically second order 20dB per decade.
This makes EMI a potential nightmare. The cables effectively act as an antenna radiating this as RF energy, potentially causing interference with radio equipment. It would be interesting to look at the radiated emissions using a Spectrum Analyser.
Inherently lower damping factor, than class AB amplifiers. Bus pumping in half-bridge stereo mode IRS Most common at low frequency input signals. This puts energy back into the supply rails.
This is a reason why this class D reference design requires a good regulated power supply. In addition more capacitance on the supply rails reduces this effect. Note there is no bus pumping effect when operating the amplifier in mono full-bridged mode. Low Cost high performance Thanks to International rectifier there are now many Class D amplifier modules based on the IRS available at a very modest cost. This gives the DIY'er great performance for the cost.
After looking at buying a Class D kitset, I was tempted to purchase a complete kit from www. Their kit and build quality looks top notch.
Their kits are supplied with large mains toroid transformers, and rectifier and smoothing board. I am led to believe these designs are based off the International Rectifier IRS reference designs.
So how much better can they be than a reference design module? I don't see the advantage of using an XLR input if you are running a short distance under 1m from the pre-amplifier to the amplifier. For long runs like an event or a music studio sure but for home use its overkill. This got me thinking I can build one myself if I can source a suitable power supply, Class D amplifier module and enclosure. Conservatively rated stereo W x 2 into 8 ohms or W into 4 ohms.
It appears this is a direct copy of the IRS reference design. The gain of this module is One other point to note, this particular amplifier is suitable for speakers with impedance's between ohms. With a preference towards lower impedance's.
Higher impedance's may cause stability issues. Board changes. This is usually too much for most sources, and as a result full power is reached too soon. Solution change the voltage gain of the amplifier. Stock voltage gain is I changed R7 from 3k to 6. This changes the gain to What this means in that the input signal can now handle a full scale signal of 1. The other advantage of this is that it effectively doubles the input impedance to the IRS 6.
Make sure that your pre-amplifier has a output impedance of ohms or lower using the factor of 10 rule of thumb. The SMPS measures x x 40mm high. At only grams. A slightly larger enclosure would have been better. The power supply has been orientated this way as the high frequency switching section of the board to the back plate, mains section closest to amplifier this keeps the high frequency switching transients as far away as possible from the amplifier module.
Fairly simple to put together the hardest part is drilling out the holes for the connectors, cut out for the power switch and PCB mounting holes and chassis feet, plus some extra holes to allow some air through.
Make sure that the power switch is mains rated and is switching the phase live! If you have not had any exposure to working with mains voltages, this is not a project you should be attempting. For NZD I was able to build this amplifier. This is my first experience with a Class D audio amplifier. Surprisingly it sounds great!
My impression comparing it to my Modified Marantz class AB amplifier - The lower end bass appears to be ever so slightly tighter and hit a little harder. Otherwise the sound quality appears to be of a very similar nature, I can't hear any other differences.

US UK. Switching between stores will remove products from your current cart. Connexelectronics PCBStuff. Item : It uses zero-voltage switching half bridge resonant topology. For best performances, there are two power supply versions, one for V mains supply voltage and one for V mains voltage, knowing the fact that some universal mains power supplies rely on voltage doubling when is used with V input, this lowering the global efficiency and maximum power capability. View Full Version : Thinking about building a class-D amp. I'm thinking about building a class D amp, and would like to use this thread as a means of collecting various bits of info in one place and hopefully fostering useful discussion :- We have a quiet time at work right now, so I spent the last week reading diyaudio. What I want in an amplifier: audiophile quality; enough power to drive my current speakers Usher S; their sensitivity is just I think the following three options mostly meet my needs: 1. Pros: very well-reviewed; uses high quality components capacitors, inductors, etc ; this board is basically self-contained and only a handful of components are needed to build a functional amplifier a case, a transformer, connectors and wiring. What I don't like about this board is the lack of info and technical documentation. For example, the manufacturer states that it provides 2xW 8 Ohm, but doesn't provide THD at full power. It means that it probably outputs about Wpc while keeping distortion reasonable. Pros: well-reviewed; uses high quality components; provides all the power I will ever need; very low parts count if used with its matching power supply; excellent documentation; best in class protection against fault conditions if used with its matching power supply. However, there are some things that I don't like about this board.

The design of this board is in accordance with the manufacturer datasheet and recommendations, as well as the reference designs. Furthermore, some improvements has been made to make the board more compact and suitable to use both in new designs, in which the user will adopt the preferred housing, input stages and power supply, and can be used also as a drop in replacement for existing audio amplifiers, which already have housing, transformer, and input stage. Audiophile sound Quality: 0. Output over current and short circuit protected. Compact size, x60x45mm, assembled board, with integrated heat sink and optional power supply. Auxiliary supply voltage regulator installed on board, only need the AC symmetric supply voltage. Mute control and Mute status pins for controlling the amplifier status within the system.
