Thread starter TechnicalFreak Start date Dec 10, TechnicalFreak Guest. If I have posted in the wrong section, please move this. Thankful for any replies given. Joined Jan 26, Messages 1, 0. Personally i have a 42" LCD and sit about an arm's length away.

It's all on preference imo. Joined Jul 26, Messages 1, 0. I know I'm not answering your question, but maybe this can help. What you want to know is the viewing angle that you're comfortable with as garyinhere said it's all about your preference in order to calculate your preferred distance to the monitor.

The distance depends on the resolution the monitor is using and how good your eyesight is. My tired old eyes have some problem seeing small stuff on my 30" monitor x at about 4 feet away so I moved the comupter to the 55" TV p and sit about 15 feet away.

Joined Nov 15, Messages 0. At work I have my 19" monitor about 3 feet away for more desk room, at home it's about a foot and a half away. Joined Jun 26, Messages 2, 0. Joined Feb 19, Messages 6, 1. I was using a 37" x LCD and as long as I turned the contrast down a bit just basically tune it for your self it was great! I now use a 50" Plasma x on my desk and I have no issue at all with this one I did tune it for my preference tho. AT work I use a 20" crt at x Too me its mostly about tuning the monitor to your preferences.

I can use anything but if I have the room i like having it as big as possible. I used the 37" for 6 years and I have been using the 50" plasma now for about three months. Just depends more about what I want to be siting in for movie watching You must log in or register to reply here.

As a result, we are increasingly seeing 4K UHD products deployed in a wide range of market areas. However, the limitations imposed by human vision raise some interesting questions about 4K deployment. What applications can benefit most from this higher pixel density and, by extension, in which situations is the incorporation of 4K UHD processing technology most effective? Human vision is confined to a narrow spectrum of wavelengths and resolutions. The eye is capable of resolving various densities and pixel sizes, but in a control room or at home this ability is greatly affected by the distance between the viewer and the display.

For example, if the screen is 32 inch then the ideal viewing distance would be about: Minimum: x

I want to set the record straight once and for all: if you are serious about properly setting up your viewing room, you will definitely benefit from p and even p. Because the p resolution is the first to deliver enough detail to your eyeball when you are seated at the proper distance from the screen. There are a few obvious factors to being able to detect resolution differences: the resolution of the screen, the size of the screen, and the viewing distance. To be able to detect differences between resolutions, the screen must be large enough and you must sit close enough. Here is your answer. Based on the resolving ability of the human eye, it is possible to estimate when the differences between resolutions will become apparent. Using the Home Theater Calculator spreadsheet as a base, I created a chart showing, for any given screen size, how close you need to sit to be able to detect some or all of the benefits of a higher resolution screen.
