But if you're having trouble with your Google Mini - maybe it can't connect to Wi-Fi, or won't play music - or you're going to give it away, then you might need to reset the Mini, which returns the speaker to its factory conditions.
Resetting a Google Mini like this will wipe out all your personal and Google account information, as well as any settings you changed, so you can start over from scratch. There are two versions of the Google Mini, and the way you reset your speaker depends upon which model you have.
To identify your Mini, flip it over. If you see a slot for a wall-mounting screw, you have a second-generation Nest Mini. If not, then you have an older Home Mini. The reset button is located on the flat part of the bottom of the speaker, near where the power cord attaches. It's a very small circle. Press and hold the reset button. After about 5 seconds, you'll hear a warning that "You are about to completely reset Google Home. Slide the microphone switch which you can find on the side of the speaker to the off position.
