Original Poster. Search My Stuff What's New 3 12 24 New build - ceiling speakers advice for a novice! Porkupine Original Poster 1, posts months. Hi all, Continuing to fumble my way through electronics in our renovation project.
I need a solution to cover audio. I did visit local Richer Sounds who were helpful as usual, but have not seemed to get a fixable solution. I also want to be able to play the TV through them in the living room at least have the option to do so, not necessarily be doing this all the time, so maybe this could work via bluetooth?
Sonos was looking like a possibility, but I am not sure it will allow all of the above. If I can get away with one amp rather than two, then of course that would also be good budget wise. I saw these speakers, and was going to buy them as a starting point! Is there a simple solution for all of the above!? As you can probably gather, I am not an audio expert! Hi Am using a Yamaha Amp which has virtual presence speaker attachments. Works really well. Am then running a second zone with 2 CT in the kitchen for audio only.
Edited to add, the Yam amp supports airplay and wireless app so I can stream wirelessly from a phone iphone or android and from a pc. MrSparks posts 91 months. You could do it from most of the systems I offer. But how far away are these two rooms? You can only connect two pairs of speakers to these amps. You could use a Systemline E50 Here with two pairs of speakers, wired through a speaker selector switch Here but bear in mind bluetooth range so if the two rooms aren't next to each other then you really need two systems.
And this would be based on 2 speakers in both rooms, not 3 in the lounge. So the way to do three speakers would be two mono and one single stereo. Often done in L shaped rooms but you'll need one amplifier to do this room.

Audiophiles looking for a compact soundbar with Dolby Atmos support and seamlessly smooth connectivity will love the fact that the Sonos is bringing in the updated successor to their original Beam sound bar. The Sonos Beam Gen 2 retains a similar form factor as its predecessor that we reviewed a while back but ramps up its capabilities and performance along with the hardware under the hood by several orders of magnitude with the notable addition of Dolby Atmos support for rich three dimensional audio for movies and games that support the format, HDMI eARC and more. Combined, this allows the Sonos Beam Gen 2 cover the acoustic spectrum from rumbly low bass to crystal clear high-frequency response. It will also play nice with other Sonos gear such as the Sonos Sub and Sonos One to form more comprehensive room setups and it also has their TruePlay feature which uses an iOS device to calibrate acoustics to match the dimensions of a room.

New build - ceiling speakers advice for a novice!
A transmission line loudspeaker is a loudspeaker enclosure design which uses the topology of an acoustic transmission line within the cabinet, compared to the simpler enclosures used by sealed closed or ported bass reflex designs. Instead of reverberating in a fairly simple damped enclosure, sound from the back of the bass speaker is directed into a long generally folded damped pathway within the speaker enclosure, which allows far greater control and use of speaker energy and the resulting sound. Inside a transmission line TL loudspeaker is a usually folded pathway into which the sound is directed. The pathway is often covered with varying types and depths of absorbent material, and it may vary in size or taper, and may be open or closed at its far end. Used correctly, such a design ensures that undesired resonances and energies, which would otherwise cause undesirable auditory effects, are instead selectively absorbed or reduced "damped" due to the effects of the duct, or alternatively only emerge from the open end in phase with the sound radiated from the front of the driver, enhancing the output level "sensitivity" at low frequencies. The transmission line acts as an acoustic waveguide , and the padding both reduces reflection and resonance, and also slows the speed of sound within the cabinet to allow for better tuning. Transmission line loudspeakers designs are more complex to implement, making mass production difficult, but their advantages have led to acclaim for a number of manufacturers such as IMF, TDL, PMC. As a rule, transmission line speakers tend to have exceptionally high fidelity low frequency response far below that of a typical speaker or subwoofer , reaching into the infrasonic range British company TDL's studio monitor range from the s quoted their frequency responses as starting from as low as 17 Hz depending upon model with a sensitivity of 87 dB for 1 W 1 metre , without the need for a separate enclosure or driver.
How to know if you’re actually getting Dolby Atmos sound
Short version: These two battery-powered bluetooth speakers are the first modern boomboxes designed by the newly created subsidiary Logitech UE. Acquired in , Ultimate Ears is well-known for its in-ear monitors used by many musicians in concert, not for its speakers. Even though the Logitech UE Mobile Boombox is limited, it is no surprise given the entry-level pricing. The real surprise comes from the big brother, the Logitech UE Boombox.
