The Real Trap option is designed to provide the flattest bass response in some rooms. Originally devised for near field monitoring environments and can work well with some desktop setups. Could work well where recording is done in the room in front of the monitoring station. Not sure how useful it is for audiophiles, but who knows maybe you have a bunch of obstacles to avoid and this work for you. Speakers should always be placed forward of the stage or performance area, pointing away from performers and towards the audience. You may often see loudspeakers arrayed as in the diagram below, at either side of the stage, pointing straight forward. By angling the speakers inwards slightly, the disadvantageous effects are greatly reduced. In real life the cut-off isn't as abrupt as the diagrams suggest, but the overall effect is still quite noticeable.

Dear Sir, I work as a design engineer for telecommunication installation in buildings, hotels etc. For a long period of time I am trying to figure out how to mathematically determine ceiling speaker coverage area and number of speakers in distributed ceiling speaker design in a manner to be in correlation with the data produced by your software Ease Address. Here are the results: Ease Address: 1 Speaker distance: 1. My calculations: 1 Speaker distance: 0.

Not hearing enough bass through your monitors? The distance between your room boundaries and speakers has a huge impact on your bass performance. Speakers are more omnidirectional at low frequencies, meaning bass waves radiate in all directions, causing a rumbling ruckus. Bass waves radiate backward from your speakers, toward the wall in front of you… and when they hit the wall, they reflect. When the reflected sound wave bouncing off your wall combines with the source sound wave coming from your speaker, it creates acoustic interference. If your speaker is one quarter wavelength from the wall for a certain frequency, wave cancellation occurs at that frequency.

To calculate the number of ceiling speakers required for your project, enter the room dimensions, Extron ceiling speaker model, anticipated type of playback content, and allowable variance in sound level between speakers. The Ceiling Speaker Calculator also determines the amplifier power necessary to drive the speakers. Must be a number equal or greater than 1.
