Any love for the Orange OR50? Where's my fellow Orange fans? Thread starter jimmyohio75 Start date Mar 19, Messages 5, I am currently gigging a Dual Terror and I love it.

I am thinking it might be time for another Orange. I am leaning toward a used Rocker 30 or a new OR What do y'all think? My band plays thick, crunchy original stuff think Clutch. I play only Les Paul's and I don't need cleans. If anyone has experience with the OR50 tell me about it.

I have a little familiarity with the Rocker I would only buy the R30 if someone tells me that the OR50 and R30 are very similar. I could save a few hundred bucks. Would be open to discussing the AD30Htc also.

MadFrank Silver Supporting Member. Interesting thread as I've been seriously looking at an OR50 the last week or so. I've been devouring all the YT clips I can and reading reviews. From what I can tell, the R30 is a little more versatile and can be more modern as well as 'Classic', whereas the OR is very vintage voiced and has some very sweet cleans as well as gain.

Of course, once you start hitting it with pedals it's another matter! I'm attracted to the warm and balanced tone of the Orange's. They seem to have a great 'fat' bass and are not harsh, bright or 'Nasal' in the other frequencies.

Messages 10, Sounds great Maybe it sounds vintage to someone that has never heard an OR I have one and it does not sound the same as my OR That is a nice clip. The Terror series is a rawking amp I would say the OR50 is more in the same ballpark as the Retro I would have to listen with headphones to see if the OR50 does the same thing I like that Premier Guitar Demo. Here's a few more -. MadFrank said:. Messages I have owned a rocker 30 and currently own an OR I would say that both of these amps are pretty different tone wise.

Both amps can go from classic crunch to modern chug but they do it in very different ways. The R30 is more refined sounding where the OR50 is very raunchy and thick, if your not careful you can end up sounding pretty sizzely. Perfect if you like to play classic rock. You can also get a nice lead slash like sound with a good eq and the right gain pedal. This is a good demo of a 70's Orange OD series Last edited: Mar 20, TheKeymaster Member.

I assume the basson cabinet 1x12 has something other than a V30 speaker No reverb needed I didn't see what he was hitting the preamp with I did not know a HTC30 sounded like this TheKeymaster said:.

Man, you still using Oranges? That's great man! I went with the R30 because everyone kept talking about how it had work more for its gain than say, the TH I'm not into that liquid lead stuff. I know you said you don't need cleans but figured I will let you know what I discovered. What everyone else has said is true about the R30's clean channel. It's just, there. If I don't hit it with my Timmy it just sounds a little sterile and boring. But like you I bought it for the dirt.

Play 90's stuff with my boys and it hasn't let me down yet. Keymaster, how do you like your R30? I owned an R30 combo back about 5 years ago and I loved the thick, crunchy goodness from it but I didn't like being limited by the 1x12 cab so I sold it. Alot of people have said that they think the Dual Terror and R30 sound a lot alike. I don;t know, there's something about EL34's that just "feel" good,. They ARE rock to me. Money is tight and my daughter just got accepted to a very elite catholic High School in the area so if I get another amp I may have to sacrifice my Dual Terror to do it.

The only way that I would sell my DT is in order to acquire another Orange. My DT is kinda unique. I had it put into a black tolex headshell. It's a one of a kind. Here it is:. I saw them at the Phantasy in Cleveland when he still used the OR amps and they really sounded glorious. You must log in or register to reply here. Trending Topics D. Guitars in General. Miami Dolphins frustrate mistake-prone Jets

But mistakes, penalties and missed opportunities were too much to overcome in a loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. Joe Flacco made his first start in place of the injured Zach Wilson, who missed his fourth straight game. But instead of fourth down and a likely field-goal try, a roughing the passer penalty on John Franklin-Myers kept the drive alive. New York was called for delay of game and then punted. But Miami turned that into more points moments later when Tagovailoa connected with Mack Hollins for a yard touchdown to give the Dolphins a lead. The Jets also had two substitution errors in the third quarter, causing them to burn timeouts early and leaving them with just one the rest of the way. The bright spot was the fact the defense had a much better performance than it had the past month, when the Jets had given up total points during their past four games.

Scott Morrison now shares the same ambition on emissions reduction as Queensland's Labor government. Here's why that's awkward. When the Prime Minister promised last month that Australia would reach net zero emissions by he was not only trailing some of our international partners, but following behind every premier and chief minister in the country. Her partner, Transport Minister Mark Bailey, retweeted a speech by federal Labor leader Anthony Albanese, criticising the Morrison plan with the caption: "Australians deserve a government that is serious about climate change. What both ministers fail to mention is that the Queensland government is actually in lock step with Mr Morrison on this key policy issue.
