They got him mixed up with another Hollywood Sheen and now he has changed his name on Twitter. But despite being a world-famous Hollywood actor who has won awards for his performances on stage and screen, the trailers for the ITV show got his name wrong. The continuity announcer kept calling him by the name of fellow actor Martin Sheen, who starred in Apocalypse Now and the West Wing. The blunder apparently took place before the second instalment of Quiz was broadcast on Tuesday evening.
Now year-old actor Michael Sheen, who is 28 years younger than the American actor, has responded by changing his name to Martin on Twitter. Another Twitter user said: "Such an acting chameleon.
You're confusing everyone, my love. Sheen - who has famously played Tony Blair, Sir David Frost and Brian Clough - watched hours of tapes from the show as part of his research.
He said: "Watching him on the show - I always enjoyed the show and I always enjoyed him on the show - did give me a real respect for what a brilliant job he does on it.
