Electrostatic speakers?

From the time the first generation of full-range electrostatic loudspeakers was introduced, about two decades ago, it was apparent that someday this technology could yield speakers of truly superb performance. That day has arrived. The Acoustat full-range-element electrostatic loudspeaker systems represent the culmination of over 20 years of design and development - beginning with the bold assumption that it was possible to build an electrostatic speaker system of no compromise, one that would be of full range design, capable of high sound pressure levels, have no crossovers, and be more reliable than any speaker of any type.

The new Acoustat Slimline Series loudspeaker systems have achieved all these goals - and much more. Finally, the ideal music transducer the electrostatic is available in a full-range-element, crossoverless design, in a manageable size and price range - and is not only reliable, but virtually indestructible. The Electrostatic Element: All Acoustat loud-.

The ideal method of reproducing musical waveforms would be to exactly reverse the process of the recording microphone, and for that matter the full-range-element function of the human ear. Only with the electrostatic transducer can this ideal method be realized. The electrostatic transducer is composed of a thin membrane diaphragm made of Mylar that is stretched and contained between two acoustically open wire grids. The diaphragm is connected to a high voltage, low current bias supply, which provides an electrostatic charge that becomes trapped in the diaphragm.

The two wire grids provide an electric field that is the voltage equivalent of the-audio signal. In the presence of an audio signal, the electric field exerts forces on the electrostatic charge that is trapped in the diaphragm.

These forces are transfered to the diaphragm, causing the diaphragm to move in synchronization with these forces. Full-Range Elements: The human ear, the microphone, and the Acoustat loudspeakers all employ a single diaphragm to cover all frequencies, from the deepest bass to the highest treble notes. This means the original waveform is not broken into pieces, pieces that would be very disimilar in terms of colorations, time of arrival, and phase.

It has been well documented that quite small changes in phase are readibly audible, and can degrade the clarity and definition of musical transients and upset the homogeneity and coherence of the stereo image.

Each speaker contains two, three or four panels which are angled for horizontal dispersion, but electrically they are one, and all are driven full range. Welcome to ManualMachine. We have sent a verification link to to complete your registration.

Over the years I've occasionally been moved to tears by my home music system. There have been many other times when I wanted to cry not for joy but because my system sounded rather poor. I'm happy to report to you that the InnerSound Eros is one of the few speaker systems I've encountered that has been able to bring tears to my eyes because of its sonic splendor. Have you ever pondered why exactly so many speaker manufacturers claim that their conventional dynamic speaker systems possess electrostatic speed and clarity, with some even claiming their product to be superior to electrostatics?

They come with all the panel attachment hardware including all screws and brackets. These speakers are NOT the Medallion series. The base and frame is different on the Medallion series. Please take this into account. If you have access to 9" wide Acoustat panels early or Medallion series and step-up electronics, you could have a nice speaker system.
