Even if your not using the factory amp you still have to bypass it unless you run new wire from the new speakers to the new deck. You cant use the factory wire and not bypass the amp.
Nov 12, 0 over here. I think it's in the bottom of the console. Other than the Tahoe Limited Edition, the vehicle was redesigned for the model year on the new GMT platform, still shared with the full-sized pickups and SUV's. Rick McAninch. Worked great to replace the stock amp that failed. My stock Bose amp had failed. Ordered this used one and swapped it in: sound system working just like it originally was. Worked perfectly to replace the amp that went bad in my Chevy Suburban. I left the sunroof open and it rained in and ruined the original.

I am pretty sure if its the one I worked on a couple weeks ago there should be some air controls for the rear seats right behind the center console if you remove that control it should give you access to the wire harness. Don't hate me if I'm wrong :-P it could be something totally different. I just finished re-doing the audio in my Tahoe with "upmarket" factory system- not the Bose system, but the nine speaker system with external amp and subwoofer in the rear left. I made many mis-steps along the way, at times wanting to slit my wrists, so I'm hoping I can save you some trouble along the way. I ordered and installed one of the factory adapters I think from PIE.
