Fast track interface
This would be most likely to occur during windows startup on slower machines. The failure is now handled as the installer will insure the TBIA correctly appears in the system tray. TBIA was already present on the target system and had a higher version number. The new uninstaller will correctly detect the error condition and clean up after itself. TBIA was leaving registry keys open which caused the uninstall of previous version to require a restart to complete and the subsequent upgrade install to fail.

Audio Interface/Soundcards
User Name Remember Me? Reaper and M-audio Fast Track having problems, again Hello All! I installed Reaper 4 days ago and I'm running it in the Evaluation mode. I'm running Reaper v5. However, the sound from the guitar does not make it on the Reaper.
I hear only silence when I enable record monitoring as well as record something. The same setup works fine using Audacity on my PC. I only have to select Fast Track lines for Microphone and Speakers and it works absolutely fine.
I have searched these forums and the web for a solution for the last 2 days but haven't been able to solve the problem. Here's what I've tried. I also ensured that the sample rate and bit setting of the Fast Track line is identical to that of the Reaper.
Still no luck. The audio doesn't show up in Reaper. Still hit the same issue. Note that between every install and uninstall, I was rebooting my PC. Both shared mode and exclusive mode. Input and Output devices selected were the Fast Track lines. Still no audio on Reaper. I also tried WaveOut and DirectSound options. No go there either. While switching between these options, I also tried launching Reaper x64 reset to config defaults. No help there either. At this time, I'm stuck and I'm not sure what to do further.
If I'm not able to get this working, I won't be able to use Reaper. I really want to use it because of the huge number of effects and other things that we can add here.
I did see that others in the forum have been using Fast Track with Reaper successfully. I've tried following those threads and use the same settings. Any help would be appreciated! Have you got speakers or headphones connected to the M-Audio? Yes I've got headphones connected to the output jack on my M-audio. I just tried another thing now. So far I've been trying to play my guitar which is connected to the guitar jack on the M-audio.
Now I connected my condenser microphone to the mic jack. But it's staggered. The sound I hear on my headphones comes for a second, and then silence, and then I can hear the sound again, and silence Now when I click record monitoring, I'm able to hear the sound from my condenser mic perfectly. However, the audio from my guitar input jack is still not showing up on Reaper. It's this condition whether the 48V power mode is switched on or off.
JPG Last edited by indolynx; at AM. Reason: snapshot. I had a similar problem with M Audio fast track. Looking at your photo. I changed my settings to 2 on top and 1 below on both. This helped me get my guitar into Amplitube 3.
Maybe worth having a look at the free vids. Vid 3 is Recording audio. It explains choosing monitor inputs etc maybe of some use to you. Is the M-Audio set as default device in your Windows Audio settings? Then we'll try to address the guitar input. Stella, thanks for that tip! Brilliant stuff When I plug in my mic, I'm now able to hear my voice clearly without any problems in the record monitoring mode for the track.
The audio from my guitar jack was still not showing up on Reaper. I changed both Inputs to Line 2 of my Fast Track and now I'm hearing the audio from my guitar jack in the record monitoring mode! So it seems as though I cannot use both mic and guitar at the same time. Brilliant stuff. Thanks so much Stella! I have attached the screenshots of my Preferences page for both Mic and Guitar working cases for reference!

With its bundled Pro Tools Express software, Avid's new interface could be just the thing for anyone getting started with music production. Avid's Pro Tools Express version 10 is included as part of the package, so this interface represents a good prospect for those making their first foray into Pro Tools production in a home studio setting. Out of the box the ABS case seems very robust and well weighted, if a little industrial looking. There are no bright colours here and it almost seems like there is a transfer missing from the front panel. Switches and pots feel both positive and hardy, although the phantom power toggle switch does seem to jut out a fair way.

By Kyle O'Brien on Dec. Communications and marketing agency Edelman has named Brent Nelsen global chief innovation and strategy officer and co-chair of the Edelman Trust Institute, starting his position January 3. Nelsen joins Edelman from Publicis Communications, where he was most recently chief strategy officer of North America. Looking to build on its more than two decades of measuring and reporting on institutional trust, Edelman debuted the Trust Institute in June. Since then, the institute has launched studies on brand trust, the return to work and climate change.
Now that I know a little bit more about audio, I'm glad that I went with this and think the price to performance ratio is great especially because this came bundled with Pro Tools M-Powered. The preamps are not bad quality and it has balanced inputs and outputs. I did have some trouble with the drivers when I first got it but the updated drivers on the website resolved that. You really do have to follow the instructions with installation though or you're asking for clicks and pops all the time.
