This LX is one of the best amps I have heard, full stop. I have heard it equalled but only by far more expensive pres and powers, nothing at anything near the price. Because it's been relatively quiet, I have spent 3 afternoons just digging out old, favourite CDs and LPs and playing them with the Luxman Du CD player into the LX and been fascinated at just how much extra detail and information it passes to the speakers.
I haven't found the need to connect an external phono stage because the onboard MM and MC stage is so good. This is a fabulous amplifier by any standards and a joy to use. Panzerholz plinth.
