Updated daily, check out our " Best Sellers " list to see what toys and games are trending! We travel the world searching for quality, innovative toys and games. We are not just a seller of toys Looking for a truly unique gift? Check out our Name Store for original and thoughtful personalized gifts! UPS Ground is our standard method of shipping which can vary from business days for delivery.

The majority of orders for in-stock items purchased during our peak season are shipped within 24 hours. Orders are shipped from our warehouse in Omaha, Nebraska - smack dab in the middle of the country - so allow business days shipping time to either coast using standard shipping, while other locations will vary from 2 to 3 business days.

Unlike most online retailers, we like to give our customers as much information as we can so that you can feel confident in your buying decision. One such piece of information is actual stock levels. On each and every product page, you'll find a very accurate count of available inventory at that given moment. This should give you the confidence that not only is the item in stock, but we actually have "N" number of units available to ship.

If a product is listed as "backordered" or "currently on order", that means that we are waiting on a shipment from the manufacturer. At this time of the year, our manufacturers occasionally get bogged down. As a result, we're unable to guarantee holiday delivery for items that are backordered. If a product is listed as "out of stock" or "not currently available for purchase", it means that we have sold our entire inventory of that product and will NOT be getting more prior to the holidays.

Unfortunately, when shipping USPS, you'll need to allow several additional days for it to be shipped and we also do not have the granular level of tracking that we do with UPS. If you're having an order shipped to one of these areas, we strongly encourage you to place your order before December 13th to allow adequate time for delivery.

If you're having an order shipped Internationally and want it delivered for the holidays, we suggest that you place your order no later than December 5th. However, because delivery times vary so widely from country to country, we cannot guarantee international deliveries before the holidays. We're here to support you before AND after your purchase. Unlike some large online companies who will only communicate with you via email, we're always just a phone call away! Just call us toll-free at and let us know how we can help.

We want your holidays to be joyful and hassle-free - that's what we're here for. We'll do everything in our power to insure that you receive what you ordered AND in time for the holidays. If we can't, we will communicate that to you well in advance so that you can make other arrangements.

If the above doesn't answer your questions, we encourage you to either email us at cs fatbraintoys. Expires Thursday, December 9th, at P.

Limit one per purchase. Cannot be combined with other offers. Offer cannot be applied on previous purchases or purchases made after the expiration. Nevertheless, we hope to make your Christmas and Hanukkah shopping as stress-free as possible! Because of COVID, supply chains have been disrupted across all product categories, including toys. Fat Brain Toys has stocked up early, but we are still anticipating possible shortages as we get into December.

Plus, we've been warned by our carriers that deliveries could be delayed during the peak shipping season. To avoid the potential for delays, we ask that you please shop early! Rest assured, our "Elf Crew" will do their part to get your packages shipped and into your hands as quickly as possible. The chime encourages the students to interact with the toy.

We will be working on matching the color of the pin to the color of the hole. The toy is brightly colored but has little visual clutter. He is on the autism spectrum and has cerebral palsy. This toy helps calm him, he loves looking through the toy as it spins, almost like looking at a fan if that makes sense. It helps him use his hands and fingers repetitively so he gains strength. Overall we are big fans of this toy! It is a wonderful project. I bought three items from Fat Brain Toys.

The Mandala, a clay project and the Little Camper project. The next project I will start is the clay project and the hardest one will be the Little Camper. The projects provide a consistent means of engagement and collaboration and allow you to work on a little bit at a time so you can minimize frustration. I know the Little Camper will be very hard.

But at least I will know that my son and I have the shared experience of having done projects so we can build on more difficult and challenging items. They have to focus and at times work collaboratively to do so. I watched a child have an amazing amount of patience as they worked with the mosaics! He prefers toys with a clear, defined purpose, start and end vs open-ended play like cars, trains, blocks, et cetera. He enjoys puzzles, shape sorters, stacking cups, and matching games.

This is why he prefers several of the toys that Fat Brain Toys has, because they offer a start and an outcome. There are also several toys like Whirly Squigz that satisfy his desire to spin while preserving the intended purpose of the toy. Helps with interpersonal interactions as we put train and track together. The nature of pulling the Squigz apart from one another utilizes both hands at the same time developing strength and coordination.

We use sign language or verbal speech during this activity. The child often will request HELP as well! You can use this activity to identify or label colors and sizes. This can be used as a turn-taking activity as well!

Everyone enjoys feeling good about themselves. This item builds self-esteem. Good for anyone! So there is one for every age grown.

The concept is really simple and he was able to figure out how to play it right away he's the one who actually found the stick on the back to play the xylophone. We've found that the spinning rollers really help stimulate him, and he loves the rainbow colors.

Great product all around! I would recommend using them less for building for those with special needs and more as a toy to shake and hold. We practiced taking turns and how to close one eye.

I moved it from dark to light so he could see the difference while turning it. So I wanted something different but yet a puzzle type that he would love. Absolutely loved the challenge and learning how to do something new along with being a type of puzzle. Useful distraction during storms and fireworks. Watch sensory, ie rough, smooth, bumpy, as it can help get them more use to these. Is also part of our PT routine to develop body awareness and encourage focus on the activity at hand.

Sometimes I play for them pop the dimpls and talk about the colors and other times they play with it themselves ". Also keeps his hands busy so he can focus on school or learning. I have even used it in reverse, meaning that we took all the ladybugs off and replaced them as we visually scanned and found the matches.

The sounds, colors, motions, popping, texter all helped. Sturdy frame held up to severe aggression although the dimples did not fair as well they came out.

Now I keep one with no dimples for when behaviors are a bit more severe and give her the newer one when she is calm. More creative whenever possible. Like wood for Nostradamus of plastic when possible.

My granddaughter has issues when she feels things are messy. He goes and gets them himself as soon as he gets home. The first day, she took it home from school, and even took it in the bathtub with her! Even as an adult it is satisfying to use. They are a quiet fidget that does not distract. Love them! These changes in planes help the child work different muscles, encourages midline crossing, and makes for a more interesting activity.

Place squigz down a hallway and have the child use a scooter board to retrieve them. This will make for a more productive engagement and interest will last longer. The "gentle" nature of "Timber Tot's" along with the realistic features and tactile appeal make this one of our Grandson's favorites. He loves to "collect", so having "Timber Tot's" items he can "build" on is a plus. The light-up's are some of his favorites, he takes them to bed with him.

He is obsessed with buses and vans, so was thrilled to get the "Timber Tot Adventure Bus" for Christmas.

Improve Public Speaking with Autism for Adults and Children

Joan Drebing waited for those first words from her twin babies. Now age 10, he has little functional speech, like an estimated 25 percent to 35 percent of people who have autism. Despite a surge in research and public interest in autism in recent decades, we still do not know why functional speech remains elusive for some people with autism. As a result, misperceptions may linger about these children and adults, about how much language they understand, how they learn, and the best ways to help them communicate. We need more data on the true intellectual level of people who are nonverbal. Two autism experts agree. Decades ago, many, if not most, people diagnosed with autism had little or no spoken language. First, the borders of the autism diagnosis expanded to include people who have milder symptoms and no history of a speech delay. Also, early diagnosis and intervention became more common and effective. Today autistic people are found along a wide spectrum, from those who speak fluently to those who do not speak at all.

Here you will find information advice and local support service for people with autism, parent carers of children or young people with autism and those who work with them. Autism is a lifelong developmental condition, which affects people in different ways. Autism is not always picked up in childhood; people can be diagnosed at any age. There are different services available for diagnosis and support depending on how old you are.

These are the books I've found helpful in learning about autism and working with children, adolescents and adults with autism and their families. Not every book or resource is appropriate for every age and stage, but hopefully you can find something that suits your needs.

Accommodations and Supports for School-Age Students on the Autism Spectrum

The role of pediatric physical therapy is to help children who have difficulty with functional movement, poor balance, and challenges moving through their environment successfully. Some children on the autism spectrum have low muscle tone, some have poor balance, others may not be well-coordinated, and still others may have a combination of all of the above. These are all areas that a physical therapist can address. Gross motor skills enable children to explore and learn from their environment. Trunk muscles strengthen, enabling children to sit and soon after crawl and begin to explore their surroundings on their own. Toddlers learn to walk, climb, and eventually run.

Married, with Asperger’s

For many families struggling with relatives who have a significant form of autism, their experience looks nothing like anything depicted on the feel-good series. Their children will not be part of the dating pool, and their worries are more acute: How can I stop my son from banging his head against the floor before his retina detaches? Who will step in when my daughter tries to swipe food from a garbage can?

An Illinois company and its owner will stop making allegedly deceptive claims that their dietary supplements are proven effective at treating childhood speech disorders, including those associated with autism, in order to settle Federal Trade Commission charges. The supplements -- which contain Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids and Vitamins E and K -- were advertised via the Internet, including search engine ads such as Google sponsored links and on websites, and at conferences on autism spectrum disorders. He is five years old and has not spoken until I began giving him the vitamins. In addition, the complaint charges that ads for Speak products deceptively claimed that the supplements are effective in treating or mitigating verbal apraxia and communication and behavioral difficulties in children with an autism spectrum disorder. The complaint also asserts that the defendants failed to disclose their affiliation with the Apraxia Research website and with parent endorsers of Speak products who received free supplements.

Eating and feeding are common topics among parents of young children. First time parents learn and gather information about how and what to feed their children, what to expect during different stages of development, and how to promote positive and healthy eating habits. Many children develop what are described as mild feeding or eating problems at some point in their development. Doctors may take a few minutes at each visit to screen for feeding and diet issues along with measuring growth status. Doctors and nurses will listen and give some guidance for common feeding and nutrition issues. Many problems of picky eating and mealtimes are resolved with a little guidance and some patience.

Autism affects one in 59 people and is displayed to varying degrees — in other words, it is a spectrum. Everybody with autism is different and those with autism can have any level of intelligence. Autism is not an illness, and those with autism can lead full and enriching lives. One part of life that we all struggle with is public speaking.
