Thread starter djgeojoe Start date Mar 30, I am adding an Audiocontrol LC2i 2-channel line output converter to my RNS rear speaker channels, I could not find any info on the web about this but the LC2i adds about k Ohms to the speaker terminal.

I do not think this will affect the speaker diagnostics check however if anyone has any experience with this please let me know. I do not know if I am going to attack the rear speaker channels at the head unit or at the rear doors thoughts? I do know that I am installing the LC2i in the hatch and not behind the head unit. Perhaps I will also add a W 2CH with an extra pair of 6X9s in the rear for a little added boost not sure if it is needed yet.

I will also be installing the remote bass knob for the LC2i in the dash just above the shifter where there are a few extra switch slots. I also am going to install the direct power for the i radar detector. Not sure if I am going to install the radar mute switch next to the bass knob or if I will install the whole thing just under the air conditioning controls.

Who said you can not put a 0AWG cable in a golf? I finished installing my system and I have to say the LC2i is amazing! I think I got a little more out of my 10W7 in my Audi cab. I have it facing rear. I got no vibration out of the hatch Amazing! Now I got the kicker L7 itch back, may need to get a hifonics brutas amp and another set of L7s for this car. The alternator I thought was a A but I am getting interior lights dimming with bass but the headlights are not dimming.

I also have 2 X 1Farad caps and a 30Farad digital cap. So I am not sure why the lights are dimming inside only. The head lamps are not xenon they are halogen. I modified the bass knob to also turn off the amp when not needed. I will post photos later.

I still have to clean up the wiring:. I just bought the Audiocontrol lc2i how did you wire this up did you tap the rear speakers behind the head unit also what 12v line did you use to power it?

I did tap the wires behind the head unit however the LC2i is now in the rear under the floor mat next to the spare tire, along with all the capacitors above. I now run a Hifonics W Brutus amp with 2 L7s in a ported box. This is much better than this 10W7 box. The 10W7 was a temporary set up from my Audi until I figured out what I wanted. The power for this switch comes from the fuse panel there is an extra slot in the fuse panel that is switched on with the ignition.

I added a 5A fuse in the fuse box for this and I use it to run the remote to the LC2i and to my radar detector. The LC2I "remote out" goes to the amp. The system is off when the car is off and I can also turn off the sub system if I do not want a lot of bass. I installed a ham radio in this car and its a good thing I installed the shut off switch as the Brutus amp causes interference with the radio.

The 12V line used to power the LC2i comes from the car battery feed; 0AWG bus line from battery, I fused it at 10A the remote comes from the extra available fuse slot in the fuse panel, I think it was for the optional block heater, not really sure on that but just check for an available fuse slot that switches on with the ignition and install a fuse if you do not install a fuse you could start a fire if a wire gets pinched somewhere.

Good Luck! I made both these boxes and tuned them myself. The L7 box takes up the entire rear hatch but is worth it. You must log in or register to reply here. Sounds like the lc2 has shorted out and blown up to me. You get any loose strands of copper out of the terminals that could possible touch between positive and ground wires? I'd be checking where you've installed the ground as well, where is it? Obviously your ground cable is as big as the incoming power cable as well right?
