And, according to reviews, it doesn't sound like what you expect a B amp to sound - not lush and tubey, but rather fast and modern, which begs the question - why bother with B then? Last edited: Jun 1, My speakers are not super sensitive but are known to be very tube friendly. Maybe some very sensitive speakers and a 2A3 kit would work? That tube is only good for W though. Listen in the nearfield for sure, with the speakers well away from walls if at all possible.
Add a sub later or use one you have now, can wire it in parallel with the speakers or use Y-splitters on your source. I guess this is only a single input amp, so may need to add a switching front end later The B amp produces 7 watts. One can find dB speakers, dB is a specialty speaker and may cost times the amp cost. Location: Utah. I'd recommend something reputable like bottle head or Ankits. I think the 2A3 is not for the poster and the 7 watt B is his only option for a reasonable speaker budget. Location: Los Angeles. The sound from 45 tube is simply pure, seductive, and even magical! Anything good that can be said about B tube, well, the 45 can do better, with only one limitation of 2W output, versus 3. But getting quality pairs or quads is hard. Entry-Level high-end analog sound and top-notch circuitry for an unbeatable low cost. Huge power supply , tube shunt regulated, negligible hum and noise free operation, and adjustable gain control to suit any power amplifier. The factory is a private enterprise no state involvement and the owner, Mr. Direct heating cathode, medium power consumption triode is used for class A amplification. Each of the triodes has its own flavor, the B sounds different than the 45 for example, but each is really something special when run in a well-designed circuit.
