I think the reason why Magnepan gives a generous 60 day return policy is because it takes some time and patience to get things right. If you're still struggling after 60 days they are probably not for you.

High value and bang for the buck. I find ALL speakers have a narrow sweet spot. Maggies have a much more narrow sweet spot though. I loved my MMGs. Unfortunately my wife squawked and squawked about having white monoliths in the living center. I thought they looked really modern and interesting. But the wife was not having it. I replaced them with a big Hafler and the sound improved. Now, I'm running a pair of big mono blocks. I've used many different power amps and haven't thought about replacing the speakers. I'm sure the outlaws will sound great with the LRS speakers.

We Love Magnepan speakers. There is something about the wide open huge 3D soundstage that is unique to thier design. However to make the speakers friendly for the masses, Magnepan must employ certain safeguards that we believe takes away from the performance to the degree that we would not ever consider using Magnepan in thier stock form. We consider it one of the least understood speakers in the marketplace. If you have your audio rig sorted with good amplification, and you are careful about turning amps off before switching interconnects or any cables at all, power amps up last and turn them off first, then there is no reason you need a fuse in the signal path, especially for the delicate sensitive tweeter ribbon.

The best way for me to relax was to listen to my office stereo playing music. My co-workers would listen and say those are great sounding so they must be some really expensive audiophile speakers. This worked out really well and provided me with hours of listening pleasure while I was at work. I decided I had to review these new entry level Maggies. Magnepan has been around for fifty years. I heard my first pair as a teenager back in the s.
