Hi, After having been in this hobby for a while and having tried and owned different systems with speakers like Dynaudio, Coincident, Brentworth, DIY speakers from Lynn Olson and Troels Gravesen and most recently Vapor Audio Cirrus an excellent speaker but without the high efficiency I'd like , I had the oportunity to hear a good SET amp in my system and was blown away by the musicality of it, specially the fluidity, platicity, tunefulness of the music.

WELCOME TO THE MUSICAL WORLD OF L’ ATELIER-AUDIO
The CD player was a prototype placed in a wooden box. Ocellia speakers have thin walls built like a musical instrument. They claim that thicker walls are damping vibrations but this is done at the expense of musicality. They further claim that dimensions, thickness, types of wood, joints and varnish are all elements that influence the final result.
A very unique and interesting approach indeed!!! This wasn't the first room I had visited and therefore I had heard the same test CD's of mine already on different rooms but for the first time the music was so much alive. Everything else seemed dull or veiled compared to this. But something was very positively different in this room. The sound was natural, relaxed and devoid of fatigue.
There were also some shortcomings: bass was not controlled enough and the trebles seemed rolled-off. But overall a very musical sound indeed.

The Audiophile Barista. I owned a pair of these some years ago. I so regret selling them to this day. No other loudspeaker I've listened to come close to the magic the Ocellias deliver. Silly to let them go. Sorry you had to let them go. This is a VERY fascination video about this innovative design.

LOG IN. Edit Delete. The speaker likes a bit of power so I would put as much as you can on them. We used our S on them to very good effect. Any smaller tube amp should do the job; a lot will depend on your room and your taste in music. I use an 8 watt SOUGA amp and find it fine, listen in a large room and sometimes at very loud levels. If you go to the PHY website it has all of the info you need. The "admissible" power rating was fairly low, at around 50 watts.

The Square Tube amps are not transistor amps preceded by tubes, but rather tube amplifiers aided by transistors. All of the voltage takes place in the first stage via a quartet of tubes. This is the entirety of voltage that reaches your speakers, while the necessary current is added by hyper-linear transistors. The result is a phenomenally palpable presentation.

You could smuggle cutoffs of that parachute over the border to Welsh ladies for making knickers during Covid rationing. I've got a "I can't afford them right now' offer on these but am still open to offers, pending Xmas-induced poverty!
