A Two-Wired Ultra-High Input Impedance Active Electrode Abstract: This paper presents a novel two-wired active electrode that achieves ultrahigh input impedance using power supply bootstrapping.
The proposed circuit reduces the input capacitance of a buffer amplifier while enabling measurements using leads with only two wires, providing a low-complexity and low-cost solution for interference rejection and artifact reduction in dc-coupled dry-contact biopotential measurements. An implemented prototype shows that, even using standard operational amplifiers, an input capacitance as low as 71 fF can be obtained, maintaining a high impedance in a kHz bandwidth, sufficient for ECG, EEG, and EMG measurements.
The circuit has a simple and easily replicable implementation that requires no individual adjustment. A common mode rejection ratio CMRR above dB at 50 Hz was achieved and the increased rejection to interference due to the potential divider effect was experimentally tested maintaining a dB CMRR at 50 Hz with a 1. ECG measurements were conducted to validate the active electrode against a traditional alternative, and a test with dry-contact EEG electrodes was successfully conducted.
Although the proposed circuit is intended to acquire superficial electrophysiological signals using dry electrodes, it can be used for measurement from other high-impedance sources, such as micropipette electrodes.

Electronic – Differential Opamp: How to cut or reduce current consumption from supply rails
Nearly as received, cables cut. At first I was planning on wiring up my bench with a few isolated outlets via an isolation transformer. Or using a GFCI to try and protect me from toasting myself when poking around off line regulators. I kept reading , and decided that the pitfalls associated with isolation transformers were easily overcome through the use of an active high-voltage differential probe. I was, at first, planning on putting together my own active HV probe, and was curious what the pros do when isolating and dividing down the test signal. While tearing it down, I decided to detour a bit and try to fix it. The AP is an odd beast. Once the yellow rubber boot was removed, the battery cover and batteries were removed revealing two screws. With those screws removed, using a hard nylon spudger, the case was unsnapped.

This page has power supply related projects P1 was the first listed, P11b the last. Need help for approriate dummy load on ATX bench power supply May 11, , pm I am planning on converting an ATX PSU into a lab bench power supply, and I've seen plenty of videos and read numerous articles about how easy it is. The constant current power supply will increase the output voltage to 1 volt so it can maintain the constant 1 amp current, and so on. Some people suggest attaching a 10 ohm resistor between a black and red wire from the power cables on the output side , however this is only guaranteed to drain the low voltage capacitors on the output - which aren't dangerous to begin with! It is adjustable from volts, and amps.
Probing Cores
There are many control-system applications where the accurate measurement of current flow is required. In many of these applications the measurement circuits must provide accurate feedback of system current flow s across a very broad range of operating temperatures. Components in these applications require a minimal absolute temperature coefficient variation to ensure accurate feedback and efficient control system operation. Solar and wind farms, aerospace, motor-control circuits, electric-vehicle charging stations, down-hole drilling and outdoor equipment are but a few of these applications. This solution guide provides guidance for the selection of low-ohmic components that are constructed from materials that satisfy the design requirements of precision current measurement circuits operating in environments with a high degree of temperature variation. Guidance is also provided for selection of a high-quality difference amplifier.

Updated [7th Jan ] — Error in interpreting noise values due to oscilloscope probe setting which I had missed has been fixed. I mean, who buys a high-voltage differential probe for Christmas, let alone two? Definitely a good idea to have one if working around mains or high voltages with an oscilloscope. GST and delivery.

Findings, solutions, suggestions, conclusions made in this document should not be viewed as accurate or even correct. They are mainly for my own use, learning and reference. In the process of assembling, reworking or repairing printed circuit boards PCB for electronic devices, the discussion inevitably turns to whether or not to clean the PCB. Cleaning adds time and expense to the process, and doing it wrong can cause more harm than good. This guide will walk you through the reasons to clean PCBs, and the best practices for electronics cleaning. Reliability requirements are generally driven by the nature of the final product.
