The LCD screen does not change or respond to any button presses, but the dock still operates normally otherwise. This is most likely due to a broken screen, but is possible to fix easily.
If the LCD screen is frozen, simply restarting the dock may fix it. To restart the dock, either press the power button or unplug the power cord to turn it off. After waiting for 10 seconds, press the power button again or plug the power cord back into the wall to turn the device on.
If restarting the dock doesn't help, the LCD screen may need to be replaced. Instructions for installing the LCD screen are outlined here. The dock is plugged in but does not power up. The most likely cause is that it isn't plugged in correctly, but the dock may broken and require a part to be removed and installed. If the dock does not power it up, it may not be plugged in correctly. Unplug the power cord from the wall as well as the dock and then plug both ends back in.
If checking the power cord does not solve the problem, the wall socket being used may be damaged. Unplug the power cord from the wall and plug it into another wall socket.

If the volume levels on the dock or the connect mp3 device are muted or set at a low volume, it will be difficult to hear any output. Check that neither is muted and that both are at a medium sound level. If you're trying to play sound from the radio, continue to the radio troubleshooting section.
If the radio does not produce any sound, then the speakers may need to be replaced. To check if the speakers need to be replaced, set a test alarm using the dock's alarm clock function. If the alarm does not produce any sound, then the speakers need to be replaced.

If you're playing a song from an mp3 device, try playing something from the radio and vice-versa. If the problem lies with one or the either but not both, then try troubleshooting that particular problem. Try playing a different song. If all the songs are distorted or sound poor, then it may be a problem with the connection or docked device.
