There is an Inspiron 15R model, but it uses a Conexant audio driver not Realtek, so I am unsure of which model you have. There is an Inspiron 15R N that uses Realtek. One thing you can do is to switch your Realtek audio driver to the Windows native audio driver and see if headphones work.
