Bryston 3b pro
Very detailed too. For a number of reasons, Bryston is one of those names that tends to be mentioned with a certain amount of awe. One of these is the sheer power of its amplifiers this one's a bit of a baby, the 28B-SST being good for 1, watts. But the look of the products also has something to do with it. Bryston is one of relatively few makes to have cracked both pro and domestic markets in style and the amps fairly scream 'professional,' but somehow without a complete lack of domestically acceptable grace.

User Name Stay logged in? I thought you were going to build a diy amp! No no, just DIY the restoration. It should clean right up with some new caps etc.
If there is any major problem with it I will make something else out of it. I had not made a choice yet for caps although they are the usual suspects. It would be nice to get some the same diameter as the original for the power supply, as they would fit in the original clamps. If not then I have many to choose from. Find More Posts by jleaman.

Try some of these caps for power supply. The new ones are c all made in Germany. I have used them with excellent results. The price is not too bad on those, I assumed they would be higher then most the caps on eBay. Not bad at all. I am going to have to play around with the values. They do have 10,uf 63v, I could use two of those in series for 5,uf v. I don't want to go to high over the original value, which I take to be uf v per power supply.

Although it is widely agreed that the bigger 4B is preferable over the 3B, I still own an old 3B ST myself, and as this would enable a direct comparison I requested not only the 4B but also the 3B. This is why the first part of the comparisons involve the 4B Cubed, and the 3B Cubed impressions are added later. To properly top it off, Hein would later also bring the 14B Cubed. The Brystons arrived in an interesting period. So, this was the perfect occasion to also check if one of the Brystons was perhaps a candidate for me personally. Suffice to say that all Bryston products are built to be as sturdy and reliable as possible and to have as little distortion as possible. Bryston is the only company that I know of to offer a whopping year warranty on their products! With the introduction of the SST series, the internal layout, as well as the faceplates, were changed and I have to say that I really like the new look.

These were conservatively rated at W per channel at 8 ohms, and up to W at 8 ohms bridged. It is working and sounds fantastic aside from a minor hum might need recapping, or maybe it's just the grounding in my room. It adds a great amount of dimension to whatever is played through it.
Way back in , a young engineer named Chris Russell took his new prototype amplifier, the PRO 3, to an A list studio in Toronto for an audition. He left with an order for two.
