It sounds surprisingly well with good deep bass and punch for just an 8" woofer. The old stock factory sub cannot touch this Pyle sub in terms of price, performance, sound, and quality. It fit in the factory box with slight modifications. I used the spacer from the front of the factory sub and placed it behind the Pyle 8" to gain more mounting depth.

I had to use new screws and drilled 4 new holes mounting holes. All in all this speaker is a very good fit while keeping the factory look rear quarter panel subwoofer grill did not need to be cut out. If you are using the factory amp, make sure you wire the voice coils in parallel, this will create a 2 ohm impedance to match that of the factory sub. Also I would recommend removing the carpet padding from inside the factory box and filling it with poly-fil pillow stuffing.

This will help improve the sound of the sub. I am very pleased with the results of my install with the Pyle PLPW8D subwoofer and would recommend it to anyone looking to replace the factory sub in their Tahoe, Suburban, or Yukon.
